Productive Giving

Give and it shall be given unto you pressed down, shaken together and running over... Jesus Over my years of service, I have had the responsibility of raising money for the good of the Kingdom of God, and I discovered one VERY important truth that Jesus himself proclaims in Luke 6:38.  Give and it shall be given to you. Please see above.  The purpose of the giving in not to enrich myself.  The purpose of giving is to sow some seeds into what I believe God is doing so God can grow it.  From Old to New Testament, God calls it the law of sowing and reaping. The Apostle Paul talks about this when he says something to this effect:  Don't be deceived.  God cannot be taken advantage of.  For you will reap what you sow.  If you sow to the spirit you will reap that which is spiritual.  If you sow to the flesh that is the kind of corrupted harvest you will have as well. Nature demonstrates this principle:  Plant apple seeds, and yo...

Praying For The Terrorists: Our Enemy.

"FIGHTING"THE GLOBAL WAR ON TERROR! Without Firing A Shot. You have heard that it has been said that you shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy. But I say to you love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you. Jesus           Did we just hear Jesus correctly?  Does He want us to love our enemies and even do so by praying for those who persecute us?  Is that what He just told us to do? REALLY?  Really.  How does He expect us to do this?  How can we pray for people like the terrorists, for example, who are destroying thousands upon thousands of lives just because their god told them to do so?   These are very good concerns, and I would like to share with you a biblical response.          Perhaps you may wish to pray as follows: Our Father in Heaven, we come to you in Jesus name to pray for the Islamic terrorists who are terrorizing the world. And as we do so, we request that...

A DAILY PRAYER FOR MY FAMILY

Today I feel led to blog by praying for my family.   If you like, you can use this to pray for yours each day as well. Dear Lord Jesus Son of The Living God have mercy and hear my prayer for my wife, my adult children, my grandchildren and their spouses.    You know us all by name. I come to you as our FATHER  in Heaven.  Grant us grace to have the spirit of wisdom and revelation to know YOU better today than we have ever known you before.  So move by YOUR HOLY SPIRIT that our lives would bring glory and honor to YOUR Holy name. Come and be so intimate with us that we could not help but authentically be the light of the world and the city on a hill. By YOUR grace cause us to be like savory salt to put savor into the lives of those with whom we come into contact. May our very lives be formed in to the image of Christ Jesus. May YOUR Kingdom indeed come as You abide in us and we in YOU. We want YOUR will to be done, O LORD, on Earth jus...

The Word of God Challenge.

The Holy Bible is a life changing book:  It is Divinely inspired.  It is living powerful and sharper than a two edged sword that pierces to the dividing of our spirit, soul, joints and marrow.  It is a book given to us to make us wise in God's ways of salvation.  It is a profitable book given to us so that we will understand what God wants us to know and what God wants us to stop. The Creator uses it to correct us or correct our course of life. He uses it to keep us on track.  And HE uses it to instruct us in right way living; furthermore,  It's like a lamp for us giving us the light we need to follow Christ.  The WORD lights up our path each day and everyday. If we abide with HIS WORD, we are less likely to stumble through each day. When we meditate on the WORD, Joshua 1:8 tells us that it has a prosperous impact on our very being.  Jesus tells us if we let the seed of the WORD rest in the soil of our hearts that, once it di...

Shining The Light: The Saint and Suicide:

" Deck the halls with boughs of holly ... tis the season to be jolly..."            I don't want to burst any bubbles or put a damper on anyone during Advent or Christmas; however, there is something on my heart about which I need to share.  I have spent the last 7 years of my 47 plus years of serving the Lord seeking to help traumatized people connect with the hope of Jesus.  I have always tried to do this, but once a Pastoral Counselor lives ministry outside the church walls, as I have done, the person cannot help but focus on trauma more intensively ... especially when working with those labeled as mentally ill.            You all know Jesus.  Or at least you know about this one who is "A man of sorrows acquainted with grief."  And while this is the season for celebration, parties, happiness and joy, there is something going on that the Church of Jesus Christ needs to be aware of and be prepared f...

ADVENT'S MISSION: DESTRUCTION !

The Reasons For Jesus 3 Seasons He Came.  He Comes Into Available Hearts and Lives.   He Will Come Again. The Reason The Son of God Appeared  Was To Destroy The Devil's Work. 1 John 3:8           More times than not people seem to think of Jesus coming into this world under some very mild and picturesque terms:  He came as a little baby.  He came during a time when the angels sang. He came while shepherds were simply watching their sheep. Sometime after this, we have a picture of 3 wise men who came bearing gifts.  But then we can see that the evil One really did not want this to happen.        For Satan this simply would not do.  So his earthly emissary, Herod, set out to kill Jesus.  Why? Well for earthly reasons he felt threatened.  He felt this newborn King my take his throne away. But the spiritual forces of evil had other reasons for not wanting Jesus to have His s...

HE GIVES YOU THE POWER BECAUSE OF HIS ADVENT

A POWERFUL REASON FOR JESUS' SEASONS   Empowerment              Jesus came to give you and me the stuff to be enough:   He came to give you and me the power to look at people differently from a worldly point of view. He really does empower us to be entirely new creations! He came to provide each individual with the  capacity to be reconciled to Christ.  He came so that the Holy Spirit can give you dynamic energy to be successful in your ministry. He came to make possible the the spiritual logistical wherewithal to be His Ambassador(s). He came to spiritually invigorate His people to be able to do ALL things through Christ who strengthens you.  As Paul wrote, "God made Him who new no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him." (2 Corinthians 5:21)           You cannot be all you need to be by trying to be it through your own strength.  However, you can ...
