The Beautiful Urgency of Discovering God's Will

Therefore, I urge you , brothers and sisters, in view of God's mercy , That you present your body as a living sacrifice  -- holy and acceptable unto God -- which is your spiritual act of worship , and do not be conformed to the world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind . Then, you will be able to test and approve what God's will is -- His good   pleasing and perfect . Romans 12:1-2 As we continue our chat about God's will, from yesterday, we can discover how we can come upon God's will.  Check out the passage above as we unpack the passage below: Step #1: It is urgent we pursue God's will! Step #2: Our merciful God is the one who makes this possible! Step #3: We must make and offering of ourselves to God or surrender our bodies to God! Step #4: As we surrender, God considers you and me as being holy and acceptable.  WOW! Step #5: When we do so, God considers this surrender, our spiritual act of  worship! Step #6: This surrender produces a...

The Danger of Being Foolish or Idolatrous Regarding God's Will.

Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. Ephesians 5:17 As I sit here at my computer, I wonder, "How many people actually know God's will?" I ask myself this question because knowing God's will is absolutely the most important information any man, woman boy or girl can assimilate into each ones life's journey.  However, I do realize that people, who don't know God, through His Son, Jesus, could care less about connecting with this vital eternal information.  I also know that it's so easy, for even Christ Followers,  to just get caught up with the idolatry of all the technological stuff: We have  Smartphones, not so smart phones,  tablets, computers, flat screen TVs, with their myriad of entertainment packages, Cable News Channels, Snapchat, TiKTok, ROKU, Twitter, Facebook, Fantasy Sports, Video Games, YouTube  (and the list goes on and on.) Sadly, these things can be all consuming, and when we allow our time to be swa...

The Best Health Food Around

The holidays are past: Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years day has flowed past us, and each holiday day was accompanied by eating. Sadly, this might not be true of all who are reading this; however, there is a food that the Creator offers to all, and it gives us authentic life: Jesus speaks of this kind of food when he says, Man shall not live by bread alone by every word that comes from the mouth of God. Matthew 4:4 This heavenly mana is something we would do well to fill up on.  For it not only will feed the body, it will feed the spirit and the soul. We need only the utensils of reading, hearing, studying, meditating and memorizing. Consume the Word this way, and watch it produce a bumper crop of life with eternal consequences. Now that is what I call "Health Food." While you may be on a diet, as a part of your new year resolution, this food will only make you stronger, wiser and more healthy from the inside out. Feed well brothers and sisters. SoJourner

When I Am Afraid

When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.  Psalm 56:3 They had chased him, and were in hot pursuit! Then, they actually seized him! What was he to do? Well, one thing he did was initially be afraid! Read Psalm 56, and you will see this was no laughing matter. He certainly in a fear provoking situation! After all, it was a life threatening experience! But David overcame! He overcame just as we can overcome, as Christ Follower's, today. We can stop being afraid by not placing our trust in our mere abilities or lack thereof. We can trust in God. We can listen to Jesus speak, and we can hear Him give us His loving command, "Fear Not For I Am With You! (Why not try just listening to these 7 words of Jesus when we are afraid?)  There is no question that David was afraid, but again, take a look at this Psalm 56 carefully and prayerfully: Once he came to himself,  David focused his thoughts on something. Or I should say that he focused his thoughts on Some ONE exponentially...
