Is not life more important than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life?  And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown  into the fire, will He not much more clothe you—you of little faith?

THE SHACK

The Controversial Book??? I know there is a lot of discussion regarding  The Shack.  I have read the book, and having provided Pastoral Care and Counseling for people traumatized by a parent, event or even war, and I understand how thinking of God as a loving “Father” would be difficult, if not impossible. If you read the book all the way through, and you will find God’s healing grace. Please click on the site below: I think it can help you help others.  It certainly will make for interesting conversation. The site below comes from CBN.  It is the Christian Broadcasting Network commentary, and I couldn’t agree more with what the writer is saying. By The Way ... I do recommend the book, and I definitely plan to see the movie. Victorious Living!

Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name. Luke 10:17 Many people in the 21st century have a view of demons that they express by speaking of them as if they do not exist.  It seems to me, they believe that demons were just a primitive way of the people of ancient times explaining that which can be explained in other ways today; therefore, they see no need to think about just how much Jesus actually interacted with these evil "Baby Satans," how these beings influence Christians in painful and unnecessary ways, and how Satan and these entities have been defeated by Jesus. They certainly see no need to overcome them themselves.  Needless to say, such opinions give evil free reign that evil should not have. Then there is the other point of view that Satan and Jesus are somehow equal in power, and that we are helpless in the tug of war between these two beings.  This is also misinformed and is completely biblically illiterate. You see, spiritual authority is

Coping With Being Weary.

Don't get weary from continually doing the right thing.  Eventually, and in God's time, you will reap the harvest, if we just don't give up. Galatians  6:9 Doing the right thing is the right thing to do; however, sometimes, being a person of character can take a lot of time, talent, treasure and energy of which we have what we feel is in short supply. This is especially true, when we see a whole lot of doing that is far from right, and is even wrong; meanwhile, those who do such wrong seem to prosper and be in health. And they may even be a bit vindictive and hurtful toward you as your seek to be what is best.  As a matter of fact, we can become downright weary at times. Paul encourages you and me to never give up.  He sets up a picture of us preparing a garden or a field.  Anyone who has worked on a farm, or  in their garden,  knows what it takes to plow, plant, prepare the soil and other things.  As time goes by we know the battle of the weeds, the water, the

God's Point of View

For The Lord doesn't look at things the way humans do. Humans look on the outside at how things appear. The Lord looks at the heart.  1 Samuel 16:7 In the Old Testament, back when Samuel was looking to anoint a new Israeli King, he got one of the biggest surprises of his life. The old King, Saul, was one handsome dude who was head and shoulders over his peers. And for all intents and purposes, he outwardly appeared Kingly in every way possible. He was tall, rock star handsome, broad in the shoulders and narrow in the waist.  He looked like a real warrior who had bulging biceps, tripling triceps, pulsating pectorals and lean loaded latissimus dorsi. He could have easily competed with the athletes of his day. In the 21st century, he could have competed with the best known body builders.  In every outward way he appeared to be the best man for the job; however, he was a dismal failure as a King. So, what was Samuel's surprise?  Well he was having difficulty finding

Building On Your Faith Foundation

As you have, therefore, received Christ Jesus the Lord, even so use this as the basis for daily walking with Him. After all, you have been rooted in Him, and you are now being built up in Him and established in the faith . Colossians 2:6-7 Once you started walking with Jesus, you were changed once and eternally for all and for your good. You remember receiving Him? Don't you?  Now, I am not saying you remember the exact day and hour you started following Him anymore than you remember the day you were born.  There is a lot about your spiritual journey, dear Christ Follower,  about which you are not -- and maybe even cannot  -- be aware; however,  I do hope you do have an experience of knowing Jesus as being a vital part of your life. And the actual memory of the event, of when you first met Him, may or may not even predate your earliest memories. Still you are hopefully walking in relationship with Him. Now you are older, I am sure that the Lord wants you to keep w

Spiritual Practices For Living According To God's Will

Therefore, do not be foolish, but understand what God's will is: Do not get drunk on wine which leads to unbridled immorality, but be filled with the Spirit ... You do this by speaking to yourselves/one another with Psalms, hymns and spiritual songs, As you intentionally sing and make melody in your hearts, and you sing to the Lord. Then you should habitually and or always give thanks to God who is the Father of everything, And you should do these things, IN THE NAME of our  LORD JESUS, who IS the Christ. Ephesians 5:17- 21 Paraphrased I have heard it said, "Practice makes perfect," and here in our scripture lesson, we have God's clear leadership on how important it is to practice God's will by being filled with God's own Holy Spirit. Yes! God does want you and me to be filled with His own Holy Spirit! First God tells us to not be foolish.  He then tells us it's His will for us to be sober because insobriety lea

The Impact of The Holy Spirit's Presence

The Lord is Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.  2 Corinthians 3:7 One of the misconceptions of a whole lot of people is that being a spiritual person or religious person is a burdensome way to live; yet, nothing could be further from the truth. For the Holy Spirit, if we allow Him to flow through our lives is like a refreshing stream of living water interacting and transforming us to be truly alive, vibrant and fruitful.  Just think about the "fruit" that the Word of God teaches grows out of your life and my life when we are "filled with the Holy Spirit." Doesn't growing in grace so as to produce love, joy, peace, the ability to  grow so that you can keep calm in trouble and tribulation (being longsuffering or patient,) becoming and being  gentle/kind, possessing goodness & faithfulness (which is integrity) and doesn't the ability to grow in demonstrating self control sound life fulfilling and refreshing to you?
