Intimacy With Christ

Authentic Intimacy        Intimacy with another involves far more than all things physical.  Indeed, the word intimacy has been so relegated to the realm of physicality that its true eternal purpose gets lost in the shuffle of life.  If we really are serious about intimacy, it would be smart to begin and continue with that which is most important.           Spiritually based intimacy is where real loving and living can and does begin.  Take, for example, 1 Corinthians 6:17 which say, "When we unite ourselves to Christ, we are one spirit with Him."  This means that when we make the deliberate choice to have a relationship with The Son of God, who is one with God, a miracle occurs.  He is "IN" us, and we are "In" Him.  We actually become a part of His mystical body. (See 1 Corinthians 12:27.)  We are not all of His body, but the Almighty designs us to fit in perfectly with the eternal.            Now this is where we begin talking about &

Your Spirituality Credit Score

What Is Your Spirituality Credit Score?      Credit scores are important, especially if you want to buy some big ticket items; therefore, many of us watch to make sure we keep ourselves in a state where we have “good credit” or a good credit score.   Pay your bills on time… maybe a little early… and it doesn’t hurt your credit score; however, don’t pay them on time or be forgetful about paying them, and that credit score number will nose dive to an abysmal level and drown your financial security in the abyss of credit wreckage.   It takes working, paying attention, being on time or early, and we are in good shape… financially speaking. Needless to say you have to earn an excellent rating for your credit.   You have to work for it diligently.    What about your Spirituality Credit Score?   How can you be sure you have “good credit” in the arena of spirituality? Isaiah gives us a hint when he says that our righteous acts of behavior “are like filthy rags.”   (Isaiah 64:6)

Getting Divinely "Friended"

Getting Divinely Friended       We are living in a time that is really interesting:  All kinds of people call all kind of other people "friends."  It amazes me how many people, for example, have more than a 1000 "friends" or hundreds of  "friends" on Face Book.  Or they may "Twitter" or "Tweet" these friends.  It's easy to see them in action as well.  Staring at their Smart Phones and oblivious to those around them, you can see them in restaurants, getting on planes or buses, riding in cars (or worse driving in cars) texting away sharing with their "buds." Yes indeed friending is certainly trending.      I am wondering how many of those "friends" would lay down their life for the one who has "friended" them?  I am wondering how many would be wounded or get bruised up for them? Would it be possible for these to really have friends that would help them with their anxieties... their doubts and fe

Power Statement Of A Christ Follower: A Little Sister or Brother of Jesus

All to often we spend time trying to do the right Christian stuff instead of simply be God's children. Sadly we do Christian stuff in well intentioned ways; yet the smartest thing is to simply learn  is to be the one God created us to be; for example, God gives us "... Power to be children of God." In John 1:12 this is God's promise: "As many as receive Jesus as the Lord of their lives, these are the ones that God gives the power to be Children of God." When Jesus came to this earth to be the Savior of the world, He first came to His own people, but they did not receive Him.  Jesus described these who rejected Him as "Children of the Devil." (John 8:12.)  And so were we, but once we sincerely began the journey of receiving Christ Jesus, we received the power to be God's adopted children. (Romans 8:15)   Not only did we receive the power to be God's adopted children, we also had the power to receive the Holy Spirit.  Once we received
