Getting Divinely "Friended"

Getting Divinely Friended

We are living in a time that is really interesting:  All kinds of people call all kind of other people "friends."  It amazes me how many people, for example, have more than a 1000 "friends" or hundreds of  "friends" on Face Book.  Or they may "Twitter" or "Tweet" these friends.  It's easy to see them in action as well.  Staring at their Smart Phones and oblivious to those around them, you can see them in restaurants, getting on planes or buses, riding in cars (or worse driving in cars) texting away sharing with their "buds." Yes indeed friending is certainly trending.

I am wondering how many of those "friends" would lay down their life for the one who has "friended" them?  I am wondering how many would be wounded or get bruised up for them? Would it be possible for these to really have friends that would help them with their anxieties... their doubts and fears. How many would stand in the gap for these "friends."

One of greatest experiences in my  life is to have such a friend.  And it really is fantastic that this one cares for me in such a way as I have described above.  By the way,  He cares for you like this as well.  The beauty of this relationship is that it did not/does not begin with me, it began/begins with Him reaching out to me. He started calling me friend first, before I even imagined such a thing with Him.  Check this out "I no longer call you servants but I call you friends."  John 15:15. And yes He did indeed demonstrate the greatest love.  He promised You did not choose me, but I chose you so that you could be fruitful in your living with fruit that last."  John 15:16. Additionally, He did lay down His life for you and me with the greatest love ever given. "No one demonstrates a greater love than this: He lays down His life for His friends." John 15:13.  In another place He made a promise that is more well known:  "For God so loved the world that He gave His only biological Son so that whoever believes in Him will never perish but they will share in God's life forever.  God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved." John 3:16-17

Here is the bottom line:  Jesus wants to "friend" you.  He does not want it to be a relationship based on superficiality.  He wants to base it on the fact that He gave a love, and there is no greater love than His, that will save your life... not to mention your eternal soul. He even gives us an ancient invitation to this friendship as He says, "Please pay attention.  I stand at the door and knock.  If anyone hears my voice, and will open the door, I will come into their life and will have fellowship with them (meaning He will "friend" them), and they will have fellowship (friendship) with me." Revelations 3:20

Again... Jesus wants to "friend" Y-O-U.  It makes no difference who you are, where you are from, how talented you are, how untalented you are, He wants to "friend" you. He does not care you are beautiful or unbeautiful. He is open to you even though you may have done some terrible things.  He counts you as worthy of this friendship, even if you may feel worthless. He cares about the abuse that has occurred in your life because He cares about you. He wants to come in and have fellowship or a relationship with you, and He wants you to have a relationship with Him.  He is knocking at your hearts door for you to make this happen, and only you can open the door from the inside of your heart.

So, while you are trending toward "friending" scores of people, hundreds of people or maybe even a thousand people, be sure you experience the most authentic "friending" available... "friend" Jesus today.

 Be Blessed 2day... Especially 2day.
