Psalm 43:5      When I was a young child, I use to hear the old timers express, "You shouldn't talk to yourself because people will think you are crazy," and when I heard them say this, I would ask "Why?"  "Why is this so bad?"  Also, I wonder more today, "Who cares what people think about me?" Sadly, there were not too terribly many people around who cared what I was feeling about such matters.  So, as a young person, I don't think I learned very well how to process my emotions, which resulted in pent up emotions and a temperament that seemed to be tempered by me having a "temper." John --1 John 4:4      There is indeed evil in the world, and the ancient wisdom of the Holy Bible teaches that there is more than one evil one.  It talks about evil ones.  They are also called "principalities, powers and the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly dimensions." (See Ephesians 6: where Paul talks about the ones who are really our enemies.)  Jesus took authority over these evil ones, and He gives us authority over the same.  So we don't need to fear these anymore than we need to fear germs.        If you are a  modernist, you  don't believe that such entities exist.  That is your choice, but the reality of something is not contingent on what you choose to think is true.  Reality is based on what is true. Galatians 3:26       When facing life, one of big lies that sets us up for failure tells us, if we could just look good enough, succeed enough and really get recognized by those around us as being "a cut above," then we would really have the stuff to be enough. As a matter of fact it will eventually leave you empty.  Appearances and accolades are okay for the short run; however, they are eventually will leave you flat.      Christ-Followers find power, grace, truth and life ... personal wholeness ... in our individual and collective identities.  We already are made whole by our faith in Christ. Peter -- 1 Peter 5:6-7      Millions of people across the globe daily rush to social media for all kinds of "friending" and support.  Just about everything going on in each one's life gets posted as we tweet on twitter, facebook, and pinterest to our "besties."  Selfies abound, and for many they are put on the world wide web because they want to hear " how pretty " or " beautiful " or " hot ." When angry, people post rants. When sad people post an emoji that expresses their melancholy. When they are happy, a laughing emoji is placed on their page. And let's not forget how texting superabounds on our super highways, interstate systems, autobahn, autostrada and other major super slabs throughout the world, putting us all at risk, while seeking comforting

T he Fear of The Lord Is The Beginning of Knowledge, but insane people despise wisdom and instruction       Where does knowledge begin?  It begins with a healthy fear of  The Almighty God. It is a reverence for One who is above all, in all and through all.  Jesus said He should be feared because He actually does have the power to cast the soul into hell... now that's frightening! The good news of this  for me is that, when I discovered this hell casting power, I decided to fear the Lord, turn from my sin(s), and turn my life over to Him, through His Son Jesus,  to save me.  AND He did!
