The Danger of Being Foolish or Idolatrous Regarding God's Will.
Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.
Ephesians 5:17
As I sit here at my computer, I wonder, "How many people actually know God's will?" I ask myself this question because knowing God's will is absolutely the most important information any man, woman boy or girl can assimilate into each ones life's journey.
However, I do realize that people, who don't know God, through His Son, Jesus, could care less about connecting with this vital eternal information. I also know that it's so easy, for even Christ Followers, to just get caught up with the idolatry of all the technological stuff: We have Smartphones, not so smart phones, tablets, computers, flat screen TVs, with their myriad of entertainment packages, Cable News Channels, Snapchat, TiKTok, ROKU, Twitter, Facebook, Fantasy Sports, Video Games, YouTube (and the list goes on and on.) Sadly, these things can be all consuming, and when we allow our time to be swallowed up in these commodities and devices, there is little time for us to consider The Creator God's expectations that provide bountifully complete lives. Indeed, you can be sure of this: When things digest, or absorb, more of our time, talents and treasure, than does God and seeking to know God's will, we are dangerously close to being idolaters to the gods and goddesses of social media and technology.
Therefore, not knowing God's will is absolutely and unequivocally foolishness. Here are other ways to say this: It is "crazy" to not know God's will. It is "insane" to not know God's will. It is "irrational" to not know God's will. It is "ludicrous" not to know God's will. It is "preposterous" to not know God's will. It is "stupid" to not know God's will. And last, but not least, it is completely "unreasonable" to not know God's will." Yet, in spite of hopefully hearing this, there are many who do not have a clue. Our loving God wants better for us. He actually wills for us to know His will, as He permits our free choice.
Each of us has only a finite number of days to travel along on this journey. Let us determine, as we begin this new year, to find out what is God's will. Take it from someone who knows, this journey brings you to old age more rapidly than you can imagine. Don't merely exist erroneously only on your terms. That would be a HUGE bad choice! With God's help, discover God's will. You will be glad you did.
