This is a day of new beginnings, time to remember and move on, time to believe what love is bringing, laying to rest the pain that's gone.     For by the life and death of Jesus, love's mighty Spirit, now as then, can make for us a world of difference, as faith and hope are born again.   Then let us, with the Spirit's daring, step from the past and leave behind our disappointment, guilt, and grieving, seeking new paths, and sure to find.   Christ is alive, and goes before us to show and share what love can do. Ways To Build A Holy/Healthy Conscience #4   Some time ago I was sitting in the NICU (Neo-Natal Intensive Care Unit) holding my latest grandson, and I was doing what a lot of grandparents  do...hopefully :  I talked to him about his heritage and what that meant.  I talked about the man for whom he was named, and his great grandmother, and I talked about the following generations.  Yes... we talked about important stuff, and I guess you could say this included his inheritance. I want him--even as an infant-- to be taught the most important part of life that will make him a very good man. As a matter of fact, I taught this just prior to his eldest cousin being confirmed in the faith and publicly declaring his faith.  It is also important you know that we had this conversation a few short days after I pronounced God's blessing on his life.  Knowing this heritage/inheritance stuff is important.   We Christ Followers are also CO- He...

The 3rd Way To Build A Holy Conscience In Your Child And In You.     "This is the Covenant I will make with."   Hebrews 10:16     In this age when morality is based on a foundation of quicksand and moral fragmentation , helping our children and grandchildren to know God has really become a challenge.  Nevertheless, the number one place your child/grandchild can find God is in your teaching them what is eternally important for the living of each day.     I want to help you do this for your family; therefore we continue our sojourn together as we look at the 3rd way to help build a "Holy Conscience."  Keep in mind that Holy and Healthy are similar in more ways than one might think.   Teach Them About The Covenant God Has Made With Us....Them   God planned this long before the world was ever created: (Check out the first few verses of Ephesians 1.)  And The Covenant He has made with them/us is supe...

GOD'S CONTRIBUTION TO OUR  PURPOSE DRIVEN LIVES We do indeed reap what we sow;  yet, in all things God is worthy of all praise, honor,glory and worship!  I don't believe we microscopic subatomic particles, resting on a microscopic molecule-- we call the earth-- that rotates around a spec in the universe, we call the sun, are "all that." The ALMIGHTY GOD makes more of our purpose driven lives than we can even begin to fathom with our infinitely finite minds. Number Two     Teach them to believe in Jesus, as their best friend.   I remember putting our children to bed at night with a ritual that was age specific and meaningful for them.  We would talk together for a while, then we we would ask them "Is Jesus Your Friend?" And they would say "Yes." Then we would ask them, "Do you want to pray to Him?" They would say "yes."  Then we would pray: Our child would pray, and then Mom or Daddy would pray... or both. Then we would close with a song that was taught to me by my mother, and which we taught to them... it was a song of blessing.  This is important:  If you want to build a holy conscience, bless your children! Number One   Building a Healthy/Holy Conscience in a child, and in yourself for that matter, is one of the  most (if not the single most) challenging parental attempted achievements of your life... especially given the current state of our culture.   Closely related to this challenge, is the fact that Holy/Healthy Conscience building is extremely important. Why?  Because doing so prepares a child to live and truly live .  It also prepares them to journey through "The Valley of The Shadow of Death" in a spiritual way that gives them strength not possessed by others who do not possess spiritual strength.   Keep in mind, it is best to teach what you teach to yourself, and it is best to model what is described by you as important .  Just saying your teaching is important doesn't demonstrate what is really important.  In other words, if you leave this highly spiritual endeavor to an institution like The Chu...

I am a people watcher, and I have watched people journey through life, but they all go to the same appointment. I have seen people from every kind of social strata, and they all found their way to the same appointment. I have observed people of every kind of shape, size and somatic being; yet they too all went to (or go to) the same appointment.  Some of these folks are happy and or down right joyful. While others are regular old "sour pusses."  Again... you guessed it... they ALL go to the same appointment.  I have traveled to lands located around the world, where multiple languages are spoken and where people grow up in different cultures.  BUT all have one thing in common... they go to the same appointment.
