The Best Choice You Will Ever Make

Image
"Seek ye first the Kingdom of God, and all these things will be added to you." Matthew 6:33 Life is full of choices, and these choices can affect each one - and our loved ones - spiritually, emotionally, relationally, financially and physically. Jesus cares about our choices, and he cares about the end result -- or the "harvest" -- we reap as a result of those choices. As we make our life plan, the best choice to make is the one that involves the choice of either putting the Kingdom of God first or not. According to the ancient wisdom of our life verse, today, there is ONLY one choice to make. Seek, FIRST, the Kingdom of God! Why?  The answer is simple: Everything else will fall into place; therefore, putting God first, each day, is the best decision you or I could ever make. SoJourner

What Do You Do When Your Doctor Says You Have Outlived Your Life Expectancy

A Not Surprising Comment       I know the title of this blog, today, may sound a bit strange; however, it represents something that was actually told to me just a short while ago.  I recently had another issue with my heart.  So, I was in with my Cardiologist, and he was attempting to work out appropriate protocols for my medical care.  He was looking at my record, and he looked back at me.  As a matter of fact, he did this multiple times, and then he said, "You do know you should not be here.  You are a walking miracle! People who have had all the things happen to their heart, like have had happen to you, usually live only 5 years."Then we talked about expected longevity:  He said, in informing me how much longer he thought I could expect to be here on planet earth, he pointed to the floor, he looked into my eyes, and he said, "You have today!"  I smiled, and I said to him, "Doc you are not the first one to ev...

The Hurricane That Went Away When God's People Prayed & God Showed Up.

Dorian Dorian painted a bullseye on the state of Florida. All 67 counties were put on high alert.  The people of God responded to a call, and teaching, regarding "How To Pray Successfully Against A Hurricane!"  Anyone who followed the news has to realize that the entire state of Florida was spared, and I am completely satisfied that God answered our prayers to shift the high and low pressure systems around to keep this storm off our shoreline. He answered our specific prayers -- specifically -- for upper level disturbances and windsheer to weaken the Hurricane. A Cat-5 Hurricane, with sustained winds of 185 miles per hour, shrank to Cat-2. And devastation of a state with 22 million people, not to mention visitors, was spared a horrible experience. This was indeed a miracle.   Somebody needs to say: " Thank You Jesus! " SoJourner

#Murder In America: It Is A Spiritual Problem

Hi Everyone, Well, our national news has gone to great lengths to make sure we are aware of the horrendous mass murders that have taken place in Dayton and In El Paso. And they are right. Murderous mayhem took place in these two cities; yet, it is sad that this is the tip of the iceberg, as all our cities and streets run with the blood of black on black crime. Indeed, more people are killed on our cities streets, in a few short months, than were killed in the entire Vietnam War.  The carnage is unbelievable.  The talking head pontificators try to tell us that it's all about "gun violence."  Some others say it's about mental health, and their theorizing goes on and one; nevertheless, the main reason we are having these modern day epidemics of murder on our streets, as well as millions of murders of innocent preborn human beings, is predicated on one problem that is being completely ignored by our elitist newscasters. WE HAVE A SPIRITUAL PROBLEM Since 19...

Seeking The Right Help

The Lord is for me, I will not fear; what can man do to me...?  It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man. Psalm 118:6-8 We live in times when being a Christ Follower can be challenging indeed; however, it's only as challenging as a single choice we make: Do we wish to please God? Or do we wish to please other human beings? The ancient wisdom of the words of this Psalm tell us which is better. It acknowledges that God is for you, and He is for me. Because God has this positive affection for us, and we truly believe this, there is not really much anyone, in the long run, can do to us.  It's best for us to take refuge where refuge will make a difference in us, from here to eternity. It's best to find our hope and safety, our comfort and our strength,in the Lord our God... and no place else. It's Really Not Hard It's not hard to figure out why seeking to please a human being, and trusting them, instead of God, is a really bad choice.  Think...

He Does and He Will! You Can Count On It!

I know my redeemer lives, and, that in the end,  He will live on the earth.   Job Do Y'all Remember? Hey do y'all remember Job? You know Job don't you? He is the guy that, when God was having a conversation with Satan, told him that Job was a "perfect man." Yup! Just get out your old KJV of the Bible and you will see it right there.  Well, Satan didn't like what God said, and in the end, Satan was given some authority to put the hurt on Job to see if he would curse God and die.  Job didn't. As a matter of fact, he did much better than I would do, if I were going through what Job experienced during Satan's all out assault on him. Job Knew What He Knew Job was certain of certain things. In spite of all his suffering, listen in to some of his conversations: "The Lord gives. The Lord takes away. Blessed be the name of the Lord . "   Or how about this one: "Though He slay me; yet, will I serve Him." Now this fellow c...
