Who Are You: I.D. #2 Living Victoriously

We know that God's children do not make a  practice of sinning; For God's Son holds them securely, and the Evil One Cannot touch them . 1 John 5:18 NLT Here is the Word of truth that clearly talks about your identity and my identity in Christ . It tells us how this being a God empowered child of God has a life changing impact on us. Get this right in your heart and head, and the devil cannot make you do anything wrong nor defeat you. You just have to believe the truth about who you are; for example, in the last blog, I told you how that receiving Jesus gives you the power of God to be a child of God, and with this power, comes a life change in which your spirit is resurrected and connected with God's spirit. Since you are connected with God's Holy Spirit, you have what the Greek language calls "dynamos"  power or dynamite power. The last time I checked, this explosive power has an unusual potentiality for making things happen. The Supreme S...

Who Are You I.D. #1

Identity One But as many as received Him (Jesus) to them He gave the power to become Children of God . John As we start looking at your identity and my identity, we see that your identity and mine are based on what God made possible by giving power. If you take time to read John 1:1-12, you will read one of the "Christmas" stories written as only John could write it. No there are no mangers scenes, sheep, shepherds, stables not even Mary or Joseph. You will notice it's a story about the actual beginning of time and how God and Jesus (the Word) are intimate and one, and how God (Jesus) is the God who is with us. God became flesh and dwelt among us for a while.  WOW! Now, there is a sadness in this story because, even though Jesus is described here as being with God and is God, He is also talked about as being on a mission for the benefit of God's covenant people; yet, they "did not receive him." They failed in claiming the blessings of the...

Who Are You?

Hey Christ-Followers, Who are you? What is your identity? How is your identity affecting your everyday life? All these are good questions because how you view yourself is how you just might live out your life; for example, a child told all their life, "You will never amount to anything," will have difficulty excelling in life. This is so because their self view is that they cannot do much, be much and that they are NOT much. Our prisons are packed with people drowned in this deluge of demonic verbal poison. So, let's start thinking about this is the coming days. Y'all be blessed today ... especially today.  It's the only one guaranteed. SoJourner

God's Plans For Your Life

"For I know the plans that I have for you, " declares the Lord, "plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a hope and a future." GOD Jeremiah 29:11 Many people love to quote the scripture above to receive comfort, peace and strength, and that's okay, but doing so without looking at what God means when God says these things, may lead a person to experiencing disappointment. Here are some important questions: What are your goals for success? What do you believe makes you matter or be significant? What fulfills your life? What brings you joy? What is your plan for being and feeling secure? How do you achieve daily peace in your life? How you answer these questions is vital to your daily and eternal well being. Dr. Neil Anderson, of Freedom In Christ Ministries ,  shares with us something like the following:  If your goals for success, significance, fulfillment, satisfaction, joy, security, and peace are not in line with God's plan for...

The Devolution of The Family and Our Culture

I Saw This Graphic Below.   And It Made Me Think.  So, I Hope It Is Something To Think About For Others Besides Me. When I was a teenger, we were taught to revere God, even if we didn't believe. We were taught the Ten Commandments, including/especially #6. We were taught gun safety, and it was made VERY clear: "Don't you point this weapon at another human being or their will be consequences if you do!" Kids did carry bibles to school, and the Pledge of Allegiance was conducted followed by a  VERY brief Bible reading ... not any more. About all of us had shotguns or rifles for hunting. Many drove to school with them in the back of their cars because they wanted to go hunting after school. Bye the way, we did not have bloody video games that allowed realistic murders to be replayed repeatedly. Political Correctness had not filled the vacuum, YET , that was being made possible by our increasing spiritual anemia. I really believe America has a Spiritual probl...

"It's A God Thing, Honey!"

Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ; nevertheless, I live. Yet, it is not I, but it is Christ who lives inside of me. And the life I live in this body I live by  the faith of the Son of God who loves me and gave himself for me. Looking At It All Wrong: A Confused Young Man When I was younger so much younger than today, I sometimes had a skewed view of healthy/holy spirituality. When I read this passage in Galatians 2:20,  I would view the Apostle Paul with admiration because I thought of him as such a surrendered guy that he actually believed he was crucified with Christ. I thought to myself, "WOW! Now that is a holy man." I had such a wrong view of this passage. My viewpoint was that I had to get to the state of walking so perfectly worthy with the Lord that I could one day possibly hope to be so godly that I was indeed crucified with Christ.  I felt that being crucified with Christ applied to the exceptional holy fe...

The Triple "The" Plus

I AM The Way The Truth The Life No one comes to God the Father except through me. Jesus - John 14:6 Things have gotten muddled with a whole bunch of people who report they are a part of the Church. It seems that a  number of Clergy, and some laity, believe that Jesus is only one of the ways to God. His truth is the truth as He, Jesus, sees it, and that life can also be found in multiple ways; therefore, they also, by extension,  disbelieve the ultimate and final word that Jesus speaks when He claims the NO ONE can actually even get to God the Father without coming through Him. Here is what is wrong with this quicksand philosophy: First, if all of what Jesus says here is NOT true, then anyone who says it is not true has to believe that Jesus is NOT telling the truth. Second, If he is not telling the truth, then he is a deceiver. To say this more bluntly, Jesus has to be a liar, if He is not telling the truth.  In  our culture a liar is defined as one...
