Noah's Visionary Faith
God warned Noah about things “not yet seen.” No clouds. No storm. No precedent. In fact, if you read the whole Noah story in the Old Testament, you will see it had not ever rained on the earth up to this time. But because God said it, Noah had no doubt a flood was coming. Indeed, Noah saw, with the eyes of faith, what human eyes could not detect. And he acted. He built an ark, that God revealed to him how it would be built, and he built it on dry ground. Why? because God said judgment was coming.
God given Faith moves before sight. God given Faith moves us to action when the world laughs. God given Faith acts when the evidence is invisible and it only seen with spiritual eyes.
Noah teaches us that visionary faith is not imagination — it is holding tightly onto God’s Word when circumstances offer no confirmation.
Noah’s obedience wasn’t just personal; it was generational. His faith built a refuge that preserved his wife, his sons, and their wives. The ark became the shelter where his family survived the flood.
Your faith can do the same. Your trust in God can create spiritual shelter for those you love. Your God given faith can open doors of protection, blessing, and hope for your household.
Noah reminds us that faith is never isolated — it influences the people closest to us.
Hebrews says Noah “became heir of the righteousness that comes by faith.” He didn’t earn righteousness by building an ark; he received righteousness because he believed God. Noah stood right with God in a world where almost no one else did.
Faith still works the same way:
We become heirs of righteousness not by our achievements, but by trusting God’s Word and responding to it. God tells us to believe in Jesus, and when we do, we will not perish, but we will inherit eternal life. God tells us to repent from our sins, and turn to Jesus and we will be saved from Hell, death and the grave. We will be delivered from the Kingdom of Darkness, and we will be set free from bondage from sin and death.
Noah’s life shows that righteousness is God’s gift to those who take Him seriously. I pray you take God's salvation promises, and the promised throughout the Bible, seriously.
Let's Think About This:
Noah’s visionary faith calls us to trust God when His warnings, and promises of life, seem distant.
Even when His promises seem impossible. His promises call us to act when others hesitate. They call us to to build our lives through faith in Jesus, the Christ, when others doubt it. Or they even think it is all foolish. His Word calls us to protect our families by following God given faith. His Word calls us too walk in the righteousness God gives to those who believe.
May Noah’s faith inspires us to see the unseen, to respond without delay, and leave a legacy of righteousness that outlives us.
Prayer
Have mercy, O Lord.
Grant to us the ability to live with visionary faith. Since "faith comes by hearing, and by hearing the Word of God," give us ears to listen when we hear your Word. Help us hold on tightly to your promises, especially the promises about believing in Jesus, repenting of our sins, and receiving Jesus as Savior and Lord. And as we experience new and transformed lives, by following Jesus, help us to pass it all on to our family, including our children, our grandchildren, and all other future generations.
In Jesus Name AMEN
Challenge:
Be God's man, woman, boy or girl who lives by God given visionary faith that is based on His Word!
