The Final Chapter: The Armor of God.

Praying IN The Spirit

Completing our Journey

Today, we complete our series regarding "Clothing ourselves in Christ" and  "Being Strong in The Lord and in HIS mighty power as we intentionally "stand against the Devil's schemes."

We conclude as Paul asks the Church to pray that he would “fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel as he should” (Ephesians 6:19–20); however, Paul is now with the Lord — but his prayer request still lives. It wasn’t just for him; it was for every Christ Follower who who wants to be strong in the Lord, and in HIS mighty power, and who wants to be able to stand up to the Devil’s schemes, and who carries the gospel in each one's heart and into a world that desperately needs Jesus.

🌟 1. Pray Paul’s Prayer for Yourself

Every Christ‑follower is called to speak the gospel with clarity, courage, and compassion. Yes we are to use our words:
Through God’s empowering Grace, let us allow Paul’s request becomes our prayer:

  • “Lord, give me words.”
The Spirit supplies what we lack — wisdom, timing, and the right words for the right moment.

  • “Lord, give me boldness.”
Not brashness, but Spirit‑given courage that rises above fear, hesitation, or self‑doubt.

  • “Lord, open doors.”
Paul didn’t force opportunities; he followed the Holy Spirit's lead and he walked through the ones God opened. We can pray the same.

  • Consider Proverbs 3:5-6 to lead these important prayers. “God, I trust in you with All my heart. Please, don’t let me limit myself by my own understanding. I acknowledge you: let Your Holy Spirit guide me to be an effective Christ example, who shares the gospel in ways that please You.

When Christ Followers sincerely pray this way, each one steps into the same twenty-first mission, ministry and service as an Ambassador of Christ, like first century Paul, though I hope not in chains. As Pauline people, we carry out God’s plan — not as apostles writing Scripture, but as ordinary disciples empowered to do simple, but extraordinary things, by the same Spirit that empowered brother Paul’s life. After all, we DO have that same Holy Spirit connected with our spirits.

🌾 2. Pray for Laborers in the Harvest

Jesus commanded, “Pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest field.” This is not optional — it is a direct assignment from the King.

When we pray this prayer, we are asking God to:

  • Raise up modern day Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Missionaries, Pastors, Teachers and Disciple makers.

  • Strengthen weary servants already in the field

  • Call new Paul’s, new Billy Grahams, new John Wesley’s

  • Send we who are Christ Followers into workplaces, neighborhoods, schools, and nations

This prayer aligns our hearts with God’s mission — and it unleashes workers into places we may never go ourselves.

🔥 3. Pray with Isaiah’s Heart: “Here am I. Send me.”

Isaiah didn’t wait for someone else to volunteer. He heard God’s call and he raised his hand:  Here am I. Send me!” God is still calling us.

This is the posture of a disciple who has put on the full armor of God:

  • We are available to be ready to go

  • Ready to speak

  • Ready to serve

  • Ready to be used

  • Ready to be Ambassadors for Jesus, who is the Christ.

Some of us be may be sent across oceans. Some be may be sent to our friends. Some may be sent to our relatives. Some may be sent to those with whom we associate. Some may be sent across the street to our neighbors. The calling is right here and right now, and it is wide open for each and everyone of us.

We don’t have to go to Seminary, Bible College or any special theological school. We need only receive the words from the Lord, and they can be as simple as telling people what our life was like before meeting Christ. They can be as simple telling our story as to how we met Jesus. Again, we can simply K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple Saint.) and share what life is like now that we met Jesus and made Him LORD and Savior.

Prayer

Dear God,
Have mercy, and make us bold like the Apostle Paul. Reveal the mysteries of Your Gospel to our hearts and lives, that we might share them, as Ambassadors of Christ. Help us do so fearlessly. Please, give us words to speak and courage to speak them.

Open doors for the gospel in our daily lives as we go through our days. Help us demonstrate the light of the world. Help us stand out, like Jesus, as a City on the Hill, so that people will seek us out to know about God. Make us like savory salt to shake a little salt into the unsavory lives of those who are around us; additionally, Lord, their are so many people who are like shepherd less sheep. I obey you, Jesus, and I pray to you Lord of the Harvest. Please, raise up laborers for Your harvest — men and women who carry Your gospel into the world. And may numerous people listen to this call with Isaiah’s willingness to say, “Here am I. Send me.
In Jesus Name

Amen.

----------------------------------------------------

Okay, my fellow Christ Followers: I have shared with you how I receive the grace to be Strong in the Lord and in His mighty power. I have shared with you how to become empowered to stand against the Devil's schemes.  I have shared with you how to become clothed in Christ in order to be empowered to "behave decently." Now, "Go thou and do likewise." Amen.
