Stand Firm In The Battle

"Therefore, put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand you ground, and after you have done everything stand Ephesians 6:13

Therefore:

“Therefore,” tells us to look back at what we have already considered: So, if we want to remain standing throughout the struggle, go back and visit our two last blogs. Here’s is what we need to do:

  • We want to be able to stand against the Devil’s schemes.
  • We want to know who our enemies really are.
  • We want to be sure to fight the right enemies in the ongoing spiritual warfare for which God gives us the weaponry that we need.
  • We want to “be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power,” by putting on the full armor of God (Or clothing ourselves in Christ — Romans 13:11-14.
What Is Next?

Now here is what we are guided to do if we want to be overcomers.

“Put on the full armor of God , so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, stand.”

God has won the war. Victory is in Jesus's death, burial, and resurrection. As Saints of God (God’s chosen holy people), we already have victory over the darkness, but Satan and his crowd scheme anyway to lie to us, scheme, and get us to come up short if we are not prepared each day or fully dressed in God’s armor.

Needless to say because of the evil ones lying and scheming, life often feels like a battlefield—spiritual, emotional, relational, financial and even physical. Paul’s exhortation in Ephesians 6:13 reminds us that we are not left defenseless. God provides armor—not just pieces, but the whole armor—to equip us for the unseen battles we face.

The Day of Evil

We are told that this battle takes place, "When the day of evil comes." When is the day of evil.  It is today: We live in a day when people think nothing of aborting babies. And this is done a number of ways:

  • First trimester the baby is literally ripped apart in the mother's womb.
  • Second trimester the baby, at six months, is burned a live as it's body is injected with a salt solution in it's veins and arteries.
  • Third trimester, it is either made to have a pain filled induced heart attack to kill it so that it will abort. Or the baby is pulled out feet first. Then before the entire head is out it's brain stem is cut with a scissor.
  • Finally, some are simply left to die on a table after birth. Folks, this is down right evil.
We also live in a day when people want to help an innocent child to question it's gender that it was born with.  These same adults want to exclude the parents in this. As a matter of fact they want to hide it from the parents. Or they say the parents have no say in it.  Once a child is convinced, it is chemically castrated. Or if it is a girl, her breast are cut off.  Also, the children are filled with chemicals to make them become more feminine or male depending on the child.  Huge numbers of people are involved in making this all happen. Or atleast they try to make it happen.  This is pure evil. God's law, His ten commandments, have been wiped from the consciences of children and youth. Few even know them and this results in continual evil behavior that certainly displeases God.  Therefore, we live in the day of evil, and we need to get dressed, or clothe our self in Christ by putting on the armor of God every single day.

Now, Ephesians 6:13 doesn’t promise escape from conflict during this evil day, but it promises supernatural grace to be able to stand.  The phrase “having done all, to stand” evokes the image of a soldier who, after the dust settles, remains upright and victorious—not because of personal might, but because of divine protection and supernatural empowerment.

Imagine yourself clothed in truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation, and the Word of God. Each piece of the armor, which I plan to discuss in the coming  blogs, reflect Jesus Christ Himself. To “take up” this armor is to actively trust in His power, provision and presence. Needless to say, it is actually important to put on the armor, each day, as you clothe yourself each day in Christ.

Prayer:
Lord, today, I choose to be fully clothed in Your armor today. I choose to put on the belt of truth and the breast plate of righteousness. I choose shod my feet with the readiness of the gospel of peace. I choose to take up the shield of faith to extinguish the flaming arrows — Satan’s lies - of this evil one. I choose to embrace and put on your helmet of salvation, and I take up the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God; additionally, I pray for the Church with all kinds of prayers today. And I pray for all of us to be fearless witnesses and Ambassadors of Christ who bring others into the Kingdom of our Lord.

Then I can be victorious, as I become fully clothed in Christ. IN JESUS NAME. AMEN!

CHALLENGE:

When you get up each day. Make up your mind to get dressed. Don't begin the day spiritually naked.  Clothe yourself in Christ. Put on the full armor of God. Stand firm. Win your spiritual battles.
