Strength for the Battle

“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood…”Ephesians 6:10–12 (ESV)

In the book of Romans 13:11-14, Apostle Paul tells us how to be empowered to be an overcomer and live a decent life. He tells us to do so because our day of salvation is nearer, each morning, than it was when we first believed. He tells us to cloth ourselves in Christ, and we do this by putting on the Armor of God, as described in Ephesians 6:10-10. Today, we will begin sharing with you multiple devotionals on why this can be a supernatural experience.

In this world, life can often be, and feel, chaotic and overwhelming: Paul reminds us that our true struggle isn’t against people or circumstances—it’s spiritual warfare. The Devil is our unseen, but very real, enemy who is a liar and a schemer; nevertheless, we can BE Strong in the Lord by intentionally armoring up each day. Indeed, we can live in God's might, or mighty power, and defeat the evil one and his minions. We can live in victory.

God doesn’t ask us to be strong in ourselves. He invites us to draw strength from His might. He ask us to tap into His power. That means we don’t have to muster up courage or pretend we’re okay. As soon as we awaken and start each day, we simply need to “get dressed.' We need to choose to abide in Him, clothe ourselves in His truth, and trust that, as we armor up, His armor is enough to give us victory.

Today, if you feel weary or under attack—emotionally, mentally, or spiritually—remember: you are not alone, and you are not defenseless. As you get dressed in God's armor, the Lord equips you with everything you need to stand firm. Lean into His strength. Let His truth be your shield. And know that the battle belongs to Him. Put on the full armor of God and be empowered to stand against whatever the world, the flesh, and the Devil may try to throw at you.

Prayer:
Lord, help me to be strong and in Your mighty power.  Remind me that I don’t fight alone. I choose to clothe myself in your armor one piece of armor at a time. Your armor equips me, makes me supernaturally strong,  and it is my protection. As I put on this armor, unleash your resurrection power into my life, and teach me to stand firm in truth, righteousness, and faith. In Jesus name. Amen.

As you begin each day, get dressed: Put on the full armor of God.  Put each piece of God's armor on. Yes, as Paul says, "clothe yourself in Jesus." If you intentionally get dressed, your life will be one that is "Strong in the Lord and in His mighty power."  You will be" able to stand against the Devil's schemes."
