The Benefits of Being Delighted, Committed and Trusting People.

Delighted, Committed & Trusting People

Delight yourself in the Lord,
and He will give you the desires of your heart.
Commit your ways to Him and trust in Him:
He will act. He will bring these things to pass.
Psalm 37:4-5

Ancient wisdom really does help us to experience true life that is full, and this brief passage is jam packed with powerful ways for us to be and do. And it's really simple what God is telling us to be here in order for Him to be active in our lives.

Delight yourself in the Lord: I don't know about you but being delighted in the Lord is an easy task for me.  I am delighted, for example, that God loves the world so much that He gave His only begotten Son, Jesus, to be the Savior of the world.  I am delighted that anyone and everyone who believes in Him will never perish but will live eternally.  It brings me joy that God didn't send Jesus to condemn the world, but He sent Him to save us. And I find it ecstatic that, when a person truly believes, that all condemnation evaporates. I am delighted He promises to never leave us nor forsake us, and that He is with us even to the end of the age.   My delight list can be endless, and I suspect you could come up with your own list of joyful things for which you find delight in the Lord.

Look what comes with a person who delights in the Lord: God gives the delighted person "the desires of their heart." He gives the person a NEW wanter that is pleasing to God. He actually gives the person a new heart to want the right things that lead a person wanting life changing things that glorify God.

You may be living with a heart that needs to be re-created and new. You may need a new wanter. You may need to be turning from a heart that wants all the wrong things that are not doing you a whole lot of good.  Consider, focusing your focus on what God has done, and is doing, that will help you find a new heart and new life path that will be good for you and for those you love.

Next, we see two things that are closely related.  Commit your way to the Lord and trust in Him. This brings us to another supernatural act of God: He will act. He will bring it to pass. We may plan, but when we make our commitments, if we commit to the Lord, and trust Him with the outcomes, it is amazing what can happen. I have seen God act many times in ways I could not have imagined. I have watched Him bring to pass things that could never have been realized had I not simply committed to Him and trusted Him. This simply requires, letting go and letting God be in control.

I hope to challenge you today be benefited as a delighted, committed and trusting person of God. Yes, get delighted in our Lord!  I hope to encourage you to be a committed person. And I really hope you entrust whatever you are doing to the Lord. Why? Because then God promises to do what only God can do. Why not embrace the ancient wisdom of Psalm 37:4-5

Prayer
Dear God,
Have mercy on us.
Give us grateful hearts.
Give us hearts that intentionally are delighted in You.
Give us hearts that are like the heart of Jesus.
Empower us, by Your grace, to let go of control.
Unleash, in us the ability to commit each thing and everything to you.
Please, build our faith so that, in all our ways, we 100% put our trust in you.
Then, Lord, let us stand amazed as we receive Christlike hearts, see you act and bring to pass Your purposes in ways we could have never imagined.
In Jesus Name.
Amen.
