God's Steadfast Love
The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases.
His mercies never come to an end.
They are new every morning.
Great is your faithfulness, O LORD.
Lamentations 3:22-23

Most have heard these words: "God is love." But what does this love look like? The "crying prophet" let's us in on this. He is clear that God's love is steadfast. In other words, it is dependable, and it can definitely be relied on no matter how we feel emotionally. For God's covenant people, this love comes because of HIS mercy or because HE is NOT going to give us what we deserve. And this love is fresh. It never ceases. God's love is like a never-ending flowing river. It never comes to an end. "It is new every single morning. And I might add, it is new every single night and any time in between.
How do I know this is true? I know it because I have experienced it. I know it because, "the Bible tells me so." The main reason I know all this to be true is because God is faithful. Or as Jeremiah, the crying prophet says, "Great is your faithfulness O Lord." I have heard people say, "God said it, I believe it, and that settles it." WRONG! God said it. That settles it. I had best believe it because God is the decider, and I am not. God is always faithful.
Now Jeremiah had to prophesy some fairly tough "thus saith the LORD" messages;' however, even though he literally lamented these judgments to these people because of their wickedness, he fully believed God loved them. I know Jeremiah knew God loved him, and so he declared what his soul was speaking to him. Check this out:
"The LORD is my portion," says my soul.
"Therefore, I will hope in him."
The Lord is good to those who wait for him.
"Therefore, I will hope in him."
The Lord is good to those who wait for him.
So, no matter what you are going through, what are you going to do with this good news? Will you bow your knees and confess that Jesus is Lord of your life? Will you turn all your sin, struggles, brokenness and struggles over to HIM? I hope you do because Great is God's faithfulness unto you. Why not let HIM show you?
God Bless You,
