The Greater Freedom


INDEPENDENCE DAY !

It is for freedom that Christ has set you free. Stand firm then, and don't let yourself be burdened with a yoke of slavery.
Galatians 5:1

Here in The United States, a very special day is about to be celebrated. Many mistakenly greet others by saying "Happy Fourth of July!" But we are not just celebrating a day. We call it Independence day! This is the day that changed the course of our nation's history, and I believe it changed the whole course of the planet. For if the USA hadn't won this war that gave us this special day in 1776, and the War of 1812, our second war for independence, there is no telling where the world would have been after #Hitler marched across Europe and the Japanese were ready to rule the Pacific. After that war, which we call World War Two,  we could have ruled the world. Everyone else was wasted, and we were the only ones with the atomic bomb. However, because of our Judaeo Christian foundation that made America unusual, we rebuilt the nations of our enemies and the lands they destroyed. No one ever paid us back. Please know that I am not saying this to be braggadocios. I am simply stating what is historically accurate. We are independent and free, and other nations are also more free and independent because God made us who we are.

Additionally, in keeping with these Judaeo Christian founding principles,  our founding documents became VERY clear, and they are still evident today. What we would like all nations and peoples of those nations to have includes "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness" of every individual.  Indeed, our ideal is that those who govern, do so at the consent of the governed, and not the other way around,  where the people are governed by the consent of the governors. To say this another way, we want government to be "of the people, by the people and for the people." Only when these ideals are foundational to a society may individuals be truly free as nations.


SADLY

Sadly, many politicians are steering our nation away from this, and they are changing the language and using "political correctness" to shame others into an enslaving silence.  We actually have people crying out for socialism to be the way of our nation. This is NEVER worked in one hundred years, and has yielded a blood bath of one hundred million souls. Why? Because, in the socialist state, the power always winds up in the hands of a few powerful people, and the average people then lose their rights to little things like, for example, the right to own property. Under socialism, businesses are told how each company will run and individual rights are taken away and yielded to the so called greater good. Check out what happened to the Soviet Union. Check out Venezuela, which once had a thriving economy. Look at the debacle that is Cuba. All the people flooding our borders are running away for governments that have experienced or dabbled in socialism. I do hope the #Millennial generation, that is seeking this so passionately, would learn from history.

A GREATER FREEDOM

There is yet a greater freedom and independence that comes from being dependent on Jesus who is The Christ. It is in Jesus' teachings that we know the truth and the truth sets us free. John 8:32. It is though Jesus, the truth that we discover clearly when "the Lord sets us free, we are free indeed!" And the Holy Bible is filled with guidance on how to walk in freedom through Jesus. We, must simply surrender to him daily and then stand firm and not let ourselves become burdened by a yoke of slavery. Galatians 5:1

We Can Be So Much More.

   We Can Be So Much More:  Let us learn about the powerful identity God the Father gives us, through our being IN Christ Jesus by the power of The Holy Spirit. Let us embrace our God given Eternal Inheritance.  ( Ephesians 1:3-14)  Let us get up, each morning and give ourselves up to God. (Romans 12:1-2.)  Let us wake up! And practice Gods practice of putting off the deeds of darkness, of being empowered to behave decently, like people who live in the day time. (Romans 13:11-14) Let us cloth our selves, in Jesus, by putting on the full armor of God each day! This will make us strong in the Lord and in His mighty power, and it will give us all we need to stand against the Devil's schemes. (Ephesians 6:10-20) Let us submit to God, and resist the Devil so he will have to flee from us. (James 4:7) Learn all we can about the enemy and know he has no authority over us. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves!  By their fruits you shall recognize them!  Do people pick grapes from thorn bushes or figs from thistles? Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, and every bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit.
