Who Are You? Identity #4: Intimate With Christ

                                               
  Accepted and Intimate With Christ

But whoever is united to the Lord is one spirit with Him.
1 Corinthians 6:17

Great Spiritual Thing 
Being intimate, not sexually, but authentically intimate, is one of the greatest things going. And it is something that many long for, but few actually have such a connection with anyone to really receive it. You can long for it. You can cry for it. You can put on a good face to try really hard to be acceptable. And there are many other things that the so called self help books say you can do to have it; however, the kind of intimacy -- that can be received by we human beings authentically -- comes at the spiritual level of our being. If it comes from any other place, I firmly believe that it is missed entirely.

God Thing
Our verse above is on target when it identifies genuine intimacy as "a God thing honey." For it talks about this affection coming from being united, and specifically being united "to the Lord." At the point of this supernatural interaction, we become "one spirit with Him." Paul talks about this in Ephesians 1, where he tells us that, when we believe the gospel and receive Him, Jesus is IN US; however, He goes deeper when he also says that we are "IN Him."  When we unite with Christ, our spirits, that "were dead because of our trespasses and sins" are no longer annihilated because of our Adam and Eve sin habit, Nor are they destroyed because of our sin habits. Yes, these ancestors died the day they sinned, as God had warned them.  Their God conscious spirits died. And we died the day we sinned. That is to say that our spirit's died the day we sinned as well; nevertheless, Praise Be To God,  they were and are still resurrected, once we were and are united with Christ! And we are now able to relate to God again through Jesus!

Amazing Thing
We are now fully and amazingly alive, and we are one with Christ as He is one with us! Therefore, this identity of ours is not based on keeping rules, regulation and it is definitely not just a religion. Dear one I am talking about the greatest relationship of all time! It's the foundational relationship upon which ALL our holy/healthy relationships come.  It is a gift of a loving relationship where we are Intimate With Christ!  And with this intimacy, that is completely based on our spirit being connected with Christ, empowers us to begin the steps of having intimacy with anyone who really desires this miracle of intimacy grace for themselves!

We Can Be So Much More.

   We Can Be So Much More:  Let us learn about the powerful identity God the Father gives us, through our being IN Christ Jesus by the power of The Holy Spirit. Let us embrace our God given Eternal Inheritance.  ( Ephesians 1:3-14)  Let us get up, each morning and give ourselves up to God. (Romans 12:1-2.)  Let us wake up! And practice Gods practice of putting off the deeds of darkness, of being empowered to behave decently, like people who live in the day time. (Romans 13:11-14) Let us cloth our selves, in Jesus, by putting on the full armor of God each day! This will make us strong in the Lord and in His mighty power, and it will give us all we need to stand against the Devil's schemes. (Ephesians 6:10-20) Let us submit to God, and resist the Devil so he will have to flee from us. (James 4:7) Learn all we can about the enemy and know he has no authority over us.
