The Gospel According To Isaiah.

Isaiah 53:5

He was wounded for our law breaking, bruised for our pre-meditated sins.  His punishment that brought us peace was placed on him, and by his stripes we are healed.

Well here is another of my favorite scriptures that is definitely good news. Straight from the Prophet Isaiah's mouth, he talks about what would happen to the Messiah.  Hundreds of years later all of what  is described in this scripture happened to Jesus. He was indeed wounded.  Didn't Thomas examine  those wounds in Jesus body before he (Thomas)  would believe? When Herod's crowd beat upon Jesus, he most assuredly was bruised.  Jesus was without a doubt punished and the whip lashing Jesus' back most definitely left stripes on his back. It really is interesting how this was foretold hundreds of years before it happened, and yet it happened down to the very smallest detail ... adding validity to it's truth.

The good news is that this promise is  all about what Jesus did for you.  It is about what he did for me. It is not about what we have done or do. Never mind that Jesus was 1000 per cent innocent:  For our breaking God's law,  he was wounded. Never mind that Jesus did not yield to sin his entire journey on earth:  For our pre-meditated sins he was bruised. He gave us the ability to overcome anxiety, doubt and fear because it was his punishment that brought and brings us peace. And though believing  this last part may seem most difficult, this last part is absolutely true:  By his stripes we are healed ... no matter how we feel or what doubts Satan may try to put into our minds. Choose life.

The question for you, and the question for me is, "Do you believe it is true?  Do I believe it is true?" Remember, "Whoever believes in him will NOT perish, but will share in God's life forever."  See. John 3:16.  I cannot speak for you, but I hang on tightly to this verse every day of my life.  And it is down right miraculous the experiences I enjoy, even when challenged, daily.  So I invite you to hang on tight to God's unchanging hand and his trustworthy Word.  Then ...

You Will Be Blessed 2day
Especially Today
