Spiritual Golden Nuggets: 2 More of My Favorites.

 
 
The Other Two Wonderful Spiritual Nuggets of Wisdom
Psalm 37:4-6
 
Delight yourself also in the Lord,
And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
5 Commit your way to the Lord,Trust also in Him,
And He shall bring it to pass.
6 He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light,
And your justice as the noonday
 
Picking up where we left off (See last blog before reading this one.), I continue with this passage (Again One of My Favorites) and we sample 2 other  golden nuggets of spirituality that will transform our lives. God wants you and me to commit our lives to Him, and He wants us to trust Him.  Additionally,  He wants us to do so to work another one of those daily miracles in our lives.  However, this is a double barreled miracle of grace. 
 
Committing and Trusting
 
One of my most difficult challenges in life came when God changed my direction with a sudden jerk.  I did not see it coming, but it came anyway.  BAM! I was no longer going to be an Air Force Chaplain, and I was going back to the local parish to be a Pastor.  My hearts desire was to be a Chaplain not a Pastor, and the pain was overwhelming.  Doing all this meant I had to leave a means of serving God that I dearly loved to be the Pastor of a dying church to which my Church leaders assigned me. They could not even pay my salary.
 
Nevertheless, we determined to be delighted in the Lord.  We determined to cry out to Him in our pain, and in time He transformed our hearts.  He more than has give us the desires of our hearts. Along the way, hundreds of lives were impacted for Christ.  A dying church became a rapidly growing church... against all odds.  The stage that moved us in to the Chaplaincy - and out of it - set the stage for our Children's adulthood journeys, and all the pain that we experienced helped TLOML and me see that God is indeed the God of the generations.  We had to go through the stuff we did not want to go through so that they could arrive at the place of meeting their spouses and setting the course for their lives and the lives of their children. We received the desire of our hearts and we continued -- and still do continue -- to commit our ways to the Lord and trust Him.
 
Therefore, it has been a golden opportunity to truly learn that when we delight ourselves in the Lord, overtime, He causes a metamorphosis of  our hearts. As our hair turns white with the frost of many winters, we can actually see His hand at work. The decades of the journey do indeed bring delight.  It has also been like receiving gifts of nuggets of gold: Even though we do not understand what God is doing, if we commit our ways to Him and trust in Him, He really does "bring it to pass." 
 
Let me share a few examples:  His revealed plan unfolds before us like a mysteriously marvelous road leading us to Heaven. All those souls who have been saved along the way could never have experienced God's wonderful salvation grace, if we had stayed committed to our way of doing things. God grew us and He grows us to be the light shiners He has called us to be. As a result, many wanting to leave the darkness found their way to the light of His glory.  God really did/does lead us in the path of righteousness for His name sake. Finally, God's justice toward my family and me has shown brightly as He bathed in in His love mercy and grace.
 
Here are some promises I make to you because God's promises are true.  Life is going to "throw you a few curves."  There are going to be surprises that are maybe coupled with pain. But God is their to catch you and for you.  Your ball of life will NOT get away from you, and it will always be in and under the control of Jesus your Savior. He is the ONE  who is ONE with God The Father and The Holy Spirit. I promise you, that delighting yourself in the Lord will indeed result in God giving you the desire of your heart.  He will walk with you through your journey and you will not be alone. He will bring your journey to the best conclusion it can possibly have, even though you may be going through a whole lot of pain right now.  He will make you righteousness shine and make a difference. And He will be imparting His golden nugget of justice to you bathed in His love, mercy and grace.

We Can Be So Much More.

   We Can Be So Much More:  Let us learn about the powerful identity God the Father gives us, through our being IN Christ Jesus by the power of The Holy Spirit. Let us embrace our God given Eternal Inheritance.  ( Ephesians 1:3-14)  Let us get up, each morning and give ourselves up to God. (Romans 12:1-2.)  Let us wake up! And practice Gods practice of putting off the deeds of darkness, of being empowered to behave decently, like people who live in the day time. (Romans 13:11-14) Let us cloth our selves, in Jesus, by putting on the full armor of God each day! This will make us strong in the Lord and in His mighty power, and it will give us all we need to stand against the Devil's schemes. (Ephesians 6:10-20) Let us submit to God, and resist the Devil so he will have to flee from us. (James 4:7) Learn all we can about the enemy and know he has no authority over us. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves!  By their fruits you shall recognize them!  Do people pick grapes from thorn bushes or figs from thistles? Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, and every bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit.
