A Day Of Of Opportunity And Do Overs

January 1, 2009.  OH MY!  Another year is starting all over!  YIKES!   Yet when I reflect on this a bit, I realize that  this is a GREAT opportunity and or a day of 2nd chances.  It is a great opportunity because this first day of a new year opens all kinds of doors for any new thing our Lord creates to happen through us... one day at a time, and it is a day for do overs because we might have missed the opportunities of the past to do things right the first time.  Then it can be both because few of us bat a thousand in this game called life.

I thank God for my wife, Vicki.  I thank him for our children and our other children to whom they are married. I thank God for those special grands, Drew and Alex.  When I consider these special people in my life, I can see God has done some wonderful things indeed.  I am surprised and grateful that I have gotten to be a part of it all during these 58 years plus of living.  Believe it or not I am grateful for the new opportunities that are coming out of the victories and defeats of all that is has gone before.

I want to shout to the highest height on this first day of the year because once again... He is making all things new... opportunities, do overs and or both :o)

    I like the "do over." I am doing over another year of not resolutions but more like goals. I think goals are great to make as well as how you would act when you reach a goal. For example, I have a goal that when I reach a 20 pound loss, I intend to do a spa day. Something to look forward to instead of planning a big meal.

We Can Be So Much More.

   We Can Be So Much More:  Let us learn about the powerful identity God the Father gives us, through our being IN Christ Jesus by the power of The Holy Spirit. Let us embrace our God given Eternal Inheritance.  ( Ephesians 1:3-14)  Let us get up, each morning and give ourselves up to God. (Romans 12:1-2.)  Let us wake up! And practice Gods practice of putting off the deeds of darkness, of being empowered to behave decently, like people who live in the day time. (Romans 13:11-14) Let us cloth our selves, in Jesus, by putting on the full armor of God each day! This will make us strong in the Lord and in His mighty power, and it will give us all we need to stand against the Devil's schemes. (Ephesians 6:10-20) Let us submit to God, and resist the Devil so he will have to flee from us. (James 4:7) Learn all we can about the enemy and know he has no authority over us. Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, and every bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit.
