Coping With Feeling Inadequate

God makes us adequate as servants of a New Covenant ... Based on 2 Corinthians 3:5 Sometimes in life we feel inadequate or unable to accomplish things for which we believe God has called us.  We second guess our gifts, God's graces and our ability to move forward; however, feeling inadequate and being inadequate are not even close to being the same things.  Feelings are products of our thoughts, our hormones, the climate in which we live and other influences.  Feelings are important: While they are great arbiters for interpreting life and what is going on around us, they are merely symptoms or by products of reality. They are not reality in and of themselves. So, if we feel inadequate, there is a good chance our thoughts are focused more on our liabilities than on our assets. There is a real possibility we are not using the measure of faith with which God has gifted each one of us.   I have learned that faith in Jesus, who unleashes transformational grace,...

For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.  Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, “Let me take the speck out of your eye,” when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye. Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and then turn and tear you to pieces Quicksand Logic and Scripture  Abuse In this age where moral relativism is rivaled only by the da...

Spiritual Freedom

If you are led by the Spirit, your are not under the law. Galatians 5:18 Spiritual freedom comes from the Holy Spirit taking the lead in our lives. Once we are forgiven of all our sins from knowing Christ Jesus, the Holy Bible teaches that the Holy Spirit puts God's laws in our hearts and writes them in our minds, and our sins and lawless acts He will remember no more. (See Hebrews 10:16-17.)  Yes, the Ten Commandments are still real and relevant; however, they are no longer rules that are just written on tablets of stone that we have to force ourselves to keep each day.  In fact we cannot do so by ourselves. Daily surrendering to God almighty and following Him in faith, through Jesus and by the power of the Holy Spirit, transforms us.  And it gives us power to keep in step with the Holy Spirit who produces our capability in keeping the ways of Christ. I AM's Security Promise

"I AM with you ALWAYS, even to the end of the age. Matthew 28:20 Millennia ago, when Moses asked God, "Who shall I say sent me,?" God told him to say that Moses was to call Him "I AM." This indicated the rock-solid foundation upon which Moses was called to deliver the people of Israel from their bondage.  Jesus later said, when describing himself, "Before Moses was, "I AM."  This indicated that when He spoke, He spoke the words of truth because He and "I AM" are - and were - and evermore will be one. Later, Jesus had been successfully raised from the dead, and He was providing His disciples with words of assurance and comfort to sustain them. After all, He was about to leave them and go to the Heavenly Dimension that we call Heaven.  He also is giving this exact same promise to you and me who deny ourselves, take up the Cross and follow Him. He still is the "I AM," and as the "I AM," who is one with the H...

Rock Solid Living: Chapter Six

Rock Solid A-S-King: Levels of Relating To God. Matthew 7:7–11 Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. Which of you, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will give him a snake? If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask Him! —Jesus If you are still with us, then you have come to the other side of the narrow gate. You are well on your way, as you travel along these stepping-stones, to maintaining a solid foundation. You are also about to get a glimpse of just how rational and practical our God is. In the preceding verses, Jesus talks about speaking with God without calling it prayer. He gives no explanation as to why He does not call this prayer. He simply choos...

More and more, the philosophy of freedom  from  religion began to take over our country. This philosophy began to replace freedom of religion. Then an intentional movement to require churches to stay within their four walls ensued. Colleges and universities packed their schools with professors who accepted the newer, more relativistic, philosophy. They espoused tolerance of the viewpoints of others, but they kept conservative thinkers out almost exclusively. For a time, the church wou...
