A Christ Follower: The Journey

I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you . John 15:15b Face book is a social phenomena, and folks from all over the world are "friending" each other.  Some people have literally hundreds of "friends."   I have to imagine that the depths of some of these "friendings" are not to terribly deep. While others could be old "friends" who go way back and have fairly meaningful friendly relationships.  Still this "friending" stuff amazes me... especially when I see how quickly some can "unfriend" you. Well long before this social media launched,  a heavenly experience of Holy "Friending" was made possible through Jesus. In fact, if you check out the ancient wisdom above, this Son of God One with God "friended" us. And He "friended" us  in such a Holy/Healthy way that He entrusted- we who are His friends- with "everything" He...

But the folks who receive Jesus . Well... they are the ones  God gives THE Power To Become The Children of God. John 1:12 So... open up your heart and let God Adopt You. Receive Him. God WILL do the rest. Then you... WILL HAVE THE POWER!!! SoJourner  

They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings as eagles;  They shall run, and not be weary; And they shall walk, and not faint. Isaiah 40:31 I don't know how God has hard wired you, but there are two ways people find strength through wait training:  The first is for the people who get their strength by being still, listening and praying... by waiting.  The second is the person who does wait training by waiting on tables, serving and or doing good for others... by waiting through getting busy. Again, I don't know God put you together, but I do know, if you need some supernatural strength, it might be a good idea to get busy and wait... or not be busy and wait. Hi Y'all, Normally I like to talk about  all the positive words I can find from ancient wisdom because the gospel means good news.  Also I do it because I know for a fact that " God Is Love ."  The problem with this philosophy is that loving folks does not mean always talking about the "sugar and spice and everything is nice"  sorta stuff.  Some times love means speaking the truth in love about what folks need to hear.  And since " the fear (reverence for the Lord)  is the beginning of wisdom. "  I think it is best to also tell you the truth about what ticks God off...  Old Testament Style. Interesting thing about these things that tick God off... I would dare say, when you read these enumerated dis-pleasures, you most likely will say "AMEN," if that's your way of agreeing spiritually speaking. Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men. Jesus Listen up.  Jesus is making a promise to fisherman.  He is telling folks, who made their livings fishing, and probably enjoying it,  "Give it up.  Stop.  Don't make this your priority.  I want to do something much more useful.  I want to empower you to catch people for God the Father." And Jesus wanted them to  carry out this new "fishing expedition"  so God can (not scale, gut, filet and fry) give them the ability to share in God's life forever.  If you remember, while Jesus was still with them on this earth,  these men still made their livings fishing, but they also made their own lives making a difference in those around them by following Jesus daily. So let's take this Jesus Challenge for our day.  Let's give up ourselves to Him.  Let's follow Jesus into our day today.  Let's go fishing. Then... Be Blessed 2day Especially 2day ...
