7 Things That Tick God Off :o)

Hi Y'all,

Normally I like to talk about  all the positive words I can find from ancient wisdom because the gospel means good news.  Also I do it because I know for a fact that "God Is Love."  The problem with this philosophy is that loving folks does not mean always talking about the "sugar and spice and everything is nice"  sorta stuff.  Some times love means speaking the truth in love about what folks need to hear.  And since "the fear (reverence for the Lord)  is the beginning of wisdom."  I think it is best to also tell you the truth about what ticks God off...  Old Testament Style.

Interesting thing about these things that tick God off... I would dare say, when you read these enumerated dis-pleasures, you most likely will say "AMEN," if that's your way of agreeing spiritually speaking.

Anyway...listen up!  Here are 7 things that tick God off:

Proverbs 6:16-19


There are six things the Lord hates,
seven that are detestable to him:
1.  Haughty eyes
2. A lying tongue...
3. Hands that shed innocent blood...
4. A heart that devises wicked schemes...
5. Feet that are quick to rush into evil...
6. False witness who pours out lies...  
7. A person who stirs up conflict in the community. 

  1. Now let's ruminate about this for a little while:  How do you feel when you run into an arrogant son of a biscuit eater who tends to look down on folks? 
  2. How do you like it when some one lies about your friend, our your family or you... or just seems to habitually stretch the truth? 
  3.  I just bet that a person who sheds innocent blood is on your top 10 list for being elected Miss Congeniality?  
  4. I know that a heart that devises bad stuff just gives you all kinds of joy...
  5. And feet running to find trouble, especially if you are victimized by that trouble... well it makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Right?
  6. What about a witness that just pours out one falsehood after another.  I bet you really want such a witness testifying for you in a court of law.  
  7. Finally that busy body that continually stirs up trouble in your HOA and or community... well I know they give you  GREAT JOY???

I have to confess something here:  I made this personal; whereas ancient wisdom talks about "things God hates" not human beings.  Yup! God detest these sins, but if one of these 7 rule breakers sincerely is willing to turn from their rule breaking... aka sin.. God's love will pour all over them.  And if they ask Jesus to forgive them and come into their hearts and lives, that individual will be forgiven.  Do  you get my drift? God hates sin.  God loves people.

Usually when God makes a rule (or He hates an activity) it is for the good of the individual or the community at large.  This is especially true of the 7 things that tick God off.

So how about taking time time to think about these 7 Old Testament liberating limits (laws), and  maybe make them a part of
your value system?

We Can Be So Much More.

   We Can Be So Much More:  Let us learn about the powerful identity God the Father gives us, through our being IN Christ Jesus by the power of The Holy Spirit. Let us embrace our God given Eternal Inheritance.  ( Ephesians 1:3-14)  Let us get up, each morning and give ourselves up to God. (Romans 12:1-2.)  Let us wake up! And practice Gods practice of putting off the deeds of darkness, of being empowered to behave decently, like people who live in the day time. (Romans 13:11-14) Let us cloth our selves, in Jesus, by putting on the full armor of God each day! This will make us strong in the Lord and in His mighty power, and it will give us all we need to stand against the Devil's schemes. (Ephesians 6:10-20) Let us submit to God, and resist the Devil so he will have to flee from us. (James 4:7) Learn all we can about the enemy and know he has no authority over us.
