Stepping Stones #22: Getting All Lit Up To Change The World

 You are the light of the World.

In this Western Civilization that Jesus teachings declare is becoming like quicksand, we are in trouble because, culturally, we have abandoned Him and His teachings. It is because of our failures to walk the straight and narrow, and because of our failures to abide in what Jesus teaches and because of our failures to abide -- or remain -- in Him that our demise is occurring. The same is true of all other cultures as well; however, we can still experience Rock Solid Living in This Quicksand World!  We can victoriously do so by walking on Jesus's Stepping Stones for Victorious Christ-Centered Living. Failing to do so brings us to an existential crisis where all our foundations are crumbling. This is why I share this hope filled good news with you.

The Important Trifecta

The last couple of blogs about stepping stones have been a part of a trifecta of who Jesus says we are: And if we are who we are, a lot of good things can happen! Abiding in the Lord to be the savory salt of the earth IS who we are. But we don't keep the salt to ourselves or it will go bad.  We do "shake a little salt" into the lives of unsavory people. We are also to BE that City on a Hill, and let the world around us see us so that, like the ancient cities, people will come to us to find spiritual sustenance and to really learn about God.  In other words we need to allow the Lord to make us obvious to the world, by God's grace, to help people become a part of God's Kingdom.  This third one is another that requires we don't cover up, but we intentionally abide with the Lord so we can shine sisters and brothers, shine! 

I hope a light bulb is coming on in your head. I know we sing "tis the season to be jolly;" nevertheless, on this earth, there are a whole lot of people walking in darkness that could use the light we have. They need it shined on them by allowing the Lord to light us up, as we overcome timidity, and lovingly be available to "remove the bushel" and help people who are struggling find the light.  Let's simply be who we are and shine in order help people to not keep crashing around lost and all alone.  Jesus declares our challenge is simple: Uncover and shine!  Then let God's light work through us to help transform lives and bring people to Jesus. 

Why Do I Write?

I write this blog for a number of reasons as an Ambassador of Christ. This trifecta is one reason I do this. I hope and pray, given this reaches around the world, that I am putting savor in other peoples lives. I am writing to shake a little salt.  I am writing so people who don't have access to bibles, or who are living in places where being a Christ-Follower can be hazardous to people's health, can come to me like a city on the hill and find a means of being drawn to God through Christ, and to learn from me. I am writing to, hopefully, chase a way the darkness in people living in a darkened world.

What about You?  How can you be who God is calling you to be in the context of where you are? How can you shake a little salt? How can you help people know God? How can you help chase away people's darkness?  Make a plan. Then let God do all this through you. People need you to walk on Stepping Stones for Victorious Christ-Centered Living.

Come on! Get All Lit Up for Jesus sake. Let's change the world one person at a time.
