Therefore, anyone who hears the words of mine--and puts them into practice-- is like a wise man who built his house on a rock: The rain came down, the streams rose, the winds blew, and beat against the house; yet, it did not fall, because it had its foundation on THE ROCK!

BUT

Everyone who hears these words of mine, and does NOT put them into practice, is like a foolish man who built his house on sand: The rain came down, the streams rose, the winds blew, and beat against the house. And IT FELL WITH A GREAT CRASH!

S T O R M S

Storms seem to come into everyone's life. Some experience more, and others experience less; however, the winds of adversity do, indeed, come. Some even howl like a Category-5  hurricane that beats relentlessly on the shores of people's lives. Dear Christ Follower, some of you know precisely what I am saying. And I am here to tell you Jesus provides us with Stepping Stones for Victorious Christ-centered living right here in what we call "The Sermon on The Mount."

L O O K I N G   B A C K   T O   H A V E   A   F U T U R E

In Matthew 7:24-27, Jesus tells us how to have a strong, rock-solid, foundation to bear up under the challenges of life. He gives us a plan on how to be ready for any struggle.  He tells us to look back to have a future.  In other words, He is telling us, after having completed teaching Matthew 5-7, that if we look back at all the teachings He has given us, to not only look back at them, read them, or hear them, but to look back and to use them as stepping stones for doing what His teachings say. Then, no matter what, we will be able to stand, and having done all we can, abiding by Jesus's teachings, will empower us, by the grace of God, to be able to have the stuff to be enough. If we look back through these teachings, and we apply them, we will have a real future; however, He also tells us that the most sure way we can be failures, and collapse when facing challenges, is to simply read, or hear these words, but not actually put them in to practice; therefore, I want to share this wonder filled gospel news of how Jesus teaches us to overcome. We are going to go backward through Matthew 7, then 6, then 5, to become people who live with a solid foundation for eternal living. Consequently, we are going to see things that clearly are not blessed by our God.

P R A Y E R

God in Heaven,
Have mercy, and give us the grace we need to look back in order to have a future. As we examine Your plan,  (Your stepping stones for victorious Christ-Centered living) that we will hear what You are saying, and have the grace to put it all into practice. Then, come what may we will have victory in Jesus.
