Don't Swerve But HOPE During Your Most Challenging Days

God has given me two acrostics for the word "hope" or H.O.P.E. In this blog, I use Hold On Promises Eternal. And, during Advent, we are encouraged to focus on our God given hope; for example, Hebrews 10:23 highlights just how important this is. In fact, the writer is talking about Christ Followers hoping unswervingly to this hope. We are to be resolute in our hope. Hope needs to be a really high priority in our lives if we are going to live the full lives Jesus, the Christ, wants us to experience. Why? Because The Almighty God, who gives us His promises, is faithful.  He is full of integrity. And integrity is doing the right thing even when no one is looking; therefore, no matter what, God will, indeed, keep the promises mentioned in the context of this verse.

  1. We are promised we have eternal redemption 🙏 (Hebrews 9:12) That is, for all eternity, all the sins we have committed are forgiven. If you wrote every sin you have ever committed on a piece of paper -- maybe pages of paper -- 😀 they would all, be erased by the blood of Jesus, and God secures us in this. (2 Corinthians 1:21-22)
  2. We are promised God has sanctified us: (Hebrews 10:10) In other words, God has set us apart for His Holy use. He declares us Holy and continues to make us Holy. He is forming us into the image of Christ.  (Romans 8:28-29) That's right. God gives us the stuff to become enough.
  3. We are promised God is making us perfect in His sight. (Hebrews 10:14) We may not feel perfect, but feelings do not take the place of faith.
  4. We are promised He is transforming our lives, and He is making us brand new creations.  (Hebrews 10:15-17) This is the testimony of the Holy Spirit.
  5.  We are promised He has decided to have intentional Divine amnesia regarding our sins and lawless acts. Our sins and lawless acts He simply does not remember (Hebrews 10:17)
  6. He promises we have the confidence that God gives us access to Him in the Holiest place, which is in Heaven. (Hebrews 10:17-23.) We can go and speak with He who sprinkles us from a guilty and evil conscience.  And we can talk with this Wonderful Counselor about anything. Why? Because He understands and He wants us to obtain His mercy and grace to help us when we need His help. (Hebrews 4:15 & 16.)
  7. These are promises of God's Holy Eternal Covenant that The Almighty has made with you and with me.  These numerous covenantal promises can be seen throughout the entire book of Hebrews. He is faithful to keep each and everyone of them.

Therefore, Hold On Promises Eternal! Hold on tight! Allow God to hold on to you in His grip of grace!  You can count on God! You can count on His promises! Someone once said, "God said it. I believe it. That settles it." But I say, "God said it. That settles it.  I better believe it because it IS settled." Be filled with God given hope today.  Believe in it! Receive it! Live like God has given this hope to you as a personal gift! Then live your life as a person of God, who lives by the grace of God for the Glory of God! Thanks be to God!

In The Name of The Father

And The Son

And The Holy Spirit.

PS. Don't let the grief, loss, pain, broken relationships, nor stress of these holy days -- that have morphed into secular holidays -- bring you down. With God's help, hold on to God Almighty's promises that are eternal. Hold on tight to God the Father, through His Son, Jesus, by The Power of The Holy Spirit. And let this eternal hope help during your most challenging days of the year.
