The Most Unusual Book Ever Written!

It Really Is Unique

 Hey Y'all,

Given this is a Christ Follower Web Blog, which is written for Christ Followers world wide, I thought it was about time to say a little something about the most unusual book written anywhere, any place or any time: You guessed it! I am talking about our Holy Book,  the Bible or The Very Word of God. It really is a unique book.  As a matter of fact, I would say there is no book anywhere that comes close to it; for example, it was written by over 40 different authors. Since its earliest beginnings, the authors lived on three different continents. And it is reported to  cover 1,500 years ... maybe more. Those who put it together firmly believed what the Bible says about itself -- that is, it is THE message of God Almighty, the Creator and sustainer of the Universe, to the people God created. God wanted to -- and God still wants to -- speak to the human race on Planet Earth.

The Best of All Best Sellers

The Bible is on the "Best Seller" list every year. It outsells all other books. It simply doesn't get reported. Hmmmm? I wonder why it doesn't get reported? It was the first book ever to be printed in what could be considered via mass production:  Anyone knowing their history would know it was printed, in mass production, around 1455, using  the Gutenberg Press. It was written other ways previous to this.  But those methods of hand writing or other means, were painstakingly slow. And it is estimated that 6 billion (Yup! That is the BILLION with a B) copies have been printed throughout history.  Wow! thats getting close to a global population type of numbers! But there is MORE: It has been translated into 2,500 languages, more than any other book. The closest to that is Pilgrim's" Progress"  (Which, by the way, is based on the Bible) at 2,000 languages, and the third is Pinocchio at a mere 260 languages.There is Something about this book that has powerfully moved people to get their hands on it, to read it, to know it, and live it, and do all they can to get it into the hands of others. Sadly, way too many have died just to get to have one.

A Challenge For You

Maybe you have access to the Bible?  Maybe you have many Bibles in your home? Maybe Bibles are scarce in your country? Whatever your circumstances. I would like to challenge you simply try to get your hands on a Bible, and I want to challenge you to read a little bit each day. If you find yourself in an automobile a lot, you can use the beautiful modern technology that allows you to listen to the Bible when you drive. Why would this be so important?  That's a good question. Let me try to answer. At the beginning of this blog, I said that the Bible is a way God talks to the human beings on Planet Earth. Guess what, if you make hearing, reading, meditating, studying and or memorizing parts of the Bible, you may be surprised how God will speak to you. Not just to everyone, but God will speak to you, if you sincerely listen, and you will never be the same again.

Reading and hearing the Bible will build faith! Romans 10:17 says it this way: "Faith comes by hearing, and it is comes by hearing the Word of God."  Is your faith a little weak? Build it up, dear one. Read the Bible. Read it out loud. Get into the a community of Christ Followers who take it seriously and don't try to dilute or change it's message following the whims of cultural change. Share in the Bible with Bible believers!


Go get that Bible! Spend time with this Word of God! Spend time with sisters and brothers in the Lord, as you pray and share in the Word regularly. Listen to what the Spirit of God wants to say to you.

We Can Be So Much More.

   We Can Be So Much More:  Let us learn about the powerful identity God the Father gives us, through our being IN Christ Jesus by the power of The Holy Spirit. Let us embrace our God given Eternal Inheritance.  ( Ephesians 1:3-14)  Let us get up, each morning and give ourselves up to God. (Romans 12:1-2.)  Let us wake up! And practice Gods practice of putting off the deeds of darkness, of being empowered to behave decently, like people who live in the day time. (Romans 13:11-14) Let us cloth our selves, in Jesus, by putting on the full armor of God each day! This will make us strong in the Lord and in His mighty power, and it will give us all we need to stand against the Devil's schemes. (Ephesians 6:10-20) Let us submit to God, and resist the Devil so he will have to flee from us. (James 4:7) Learn all we can about the enemy and know he has no authority over us. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves!  By their fruits you shall recognize them!  Do people pick grapes from thorn bushes or figs from thistles? Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, and every bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Every tree that does NOT bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus by their fruit you will recognize them. Not everyone who says to me 'Lord, Lord' will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but ONLY those who do the will of my Father in Heaven.
