Who's Your Daddy?

Our Father Who Is In Heaven.
Matthew 6:9b

FIVE IMPORTANT WORDS

The five words written above in our scripture speak about the ultimate Father.  Hopefully, you know Him. But maybe you don't.  He is the Father who looked out upon the planet He created, and though He was not surprised, He saw human beings walking away from the most important relationship of their lives. He saw way too many deciding to break His law and spurn His life giving truth. Or, at the very least, decide they do not have any need of Him; therefore, they became dead to Him. No, He didn't want them dead to Him, but by choice, they did so.  Breaking God's law is sin, and the "wages of sin is death..." (Romans 6:23a.)  This death equals the ultimate breaking of the absolute most important intimate relationship. This spiritual death is the worst possible death of all. I say this because God no longer becomes -- or is -- the Daddy, Papa or Spiritual Parent who resides in heaven for such people as these. I hope you are NOT one of them.

THE CONSEQUENCES OF REJECTING "PAPA."

Dying to "THE Father." has the consequence of becoming enslaved to another "father." It has the consequence of becoming enslaved to the sin (breaking of God's law habitually) that the person would choose to commit.  ( See John 8:34)  In John 8:31-36, Jesus talked to people who said they followed Him, but really did not. In later verses, He described them  this way: "You are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father is what you do." (John 8:44.) Jesus is very clear: Throughout scripture, He repeatedly declared that God's Law, Word and transformational salvation truth, when they are rejected, leads to the lustful ways of the devil's life seizing. This causes the person to become in bondage to sin and death. The end result is these people are taken over by a new father, and He calls this father the "Devil." Sadly, this leaves the person's spirit dead. This person is no longer God conscious because the spirit is the only way to connect with God the Heavenly Father. So, this person goes through what some call life, merely existing. They are dead --with Heaven out of reach -- and Hell a soon coming destination.

Individuals and families "parented" like this are being seen all over the world falling apart. The values of the Creator  --or "Father" that are Holy (Healthy) -- are not apart of the life of the one divested of the parentage of the true and living God. The Devil has become the Daddy, and the person is governed by the passions of the body.  Whether the person knows it or not, they are LOST, in bondage to sin, and death ... the grave will NOT be a place where they can "rest in peace."

THE GIFT

Even with all this being true, the Heavenly Father has a gift waiting for any and all who would take it. You see, while it is true that "the wages of sin is death..." (Romans 6:23a) we get the glorious opportunity to hear the rest of the story. Check this out: The second half of Romans 6:23 shares, "BUT, the gift of God is eternal life through faith in Jesus."  In other words, though we have broken God's law, and though we have habitually sinned against Him, and though we deserve to die, God holds out a second chance via adoption. Yes, God IS the God of second chances. He offers the gift of becoming an adopted child of God. We need only chose to turn from the enslaving life style of sin toward the Savior (Jesus.) We need only to believe in Him, and receive Him,  as our Savior and Lord. Then we will indeed be forgiven, adopted as a child and walk with God. As Ephesians 1:5 says, "In love ... He adopted us as His children, through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will."

This is such good news! No matter where you have been or what you have done, God is "in love" with you. Because He is in love with you, as this scripture tells us, it gives Him "pleasure," and it is His "will" to adopt you as His child ... if you let Him.

ANSWER THE BIG QUESTIONS

Therefore, I want to ask you some questions, and these are very big and important questions: Who's your Daddy? No matter what has happened to you in life, and no matter what choices you have made,  or sins you have commited, do you want to have your Father in Heaven as your Heavenly Parent? Or will you choose a bad choice that will enslave you? And the enslavement gives you a devil of a daddy. I know your Heavenly Father has His arms opened wide for you to walk with Him daily. I know He wants to be your Daddy. I hope you decide wisely. Because the answer to this question of "Who's your Daddy?" is the most important question you will answer in your life.

Choose wisely.
