Iron Sharpens Iron.
Iron Sharpens Iron!
This Weekend
This weekend I had the privilege of traveling with Scott Browning to meet up with another group of men from First Alliance Church of Lakeland, Florida, and we all connected with about another 420 men from all kinds of denominations and non denominations of men in Sarasota, Florida. One thing this ISI Conference reminded me of was just how much modern men, who live in a culture that is assaulting our basic Christ Following way of viewing the world, need to be among other men who are seeking to grow in the Lord Jesus.
How?
How may a man be a better grandfather, father, husband, son, friend, and confidant in a culture where masculinity is called toxic? How, when the rules, roles and rituals of what constitutes a family, are polluted by redefinition? How can a healthy male be the kind of model he would love to be, when the media floods the airways with the constant psycho babble about gender identity, while shaming young men who resemble anything close to what God originally designed males to be? How can a man stand strong in the face of a left of center attack, and it is an attack which strongly declares that men are unnecessary to having anything that resembles a healthy family? All these and more are good questions? They are questions this short blog cannot answer today; however, I think ISI and Promise Keepers might just have some good ideas on revealing the answers, while mentoring and discipling older and younger men along the way.
A Caveat
I have one caveat to this manly page blog, and it deals with couples.
There is another organization I would like to share with you that has to do with both sexes: It is related to the "Danvers Statement on Biblical Manhood and Womanhood"... or MW. This statement comes from The Council on Biblical Manhood and Womanhood. You may ask, "Who are they? Well, I am so very glad you asked. Take a gander at their Mission Statement.
"The mission of the Council on Biblical Manhood and Womanhood is to set forth the teachings of the Bible about the complementary differences between men and women, created equally in the image of God, because these teachings are essential for obedience to Scripture and for the health of the family and the Church."
What Is The Danvers Statement?
Now I mentioned the Danvers Statement. What is this? The Danvers Statement summarizes the need for the Council on Biblical Manhood and Womanhood (CBMW) and serves as an overview of our core beliefs. This statement was prepared by several Evangelical leaders at a CBMW meeting in Danvers, Massachusetts, in December of 1987. It was first published in final form by CBMW in Wheaton, Illinois November.

Check These Out
So, please do yourself a favor: Please go to the web pages below, as well as the one above, and see what you can learn about what is going on to encourage men to really be men who walk with Jesus the Christ. Please know, you may have to copy and paste these to your URL to find the golden nuggets within, and perhaps some answers to the questions asked above might be revealed. It seems this blog doesn't always make the connection that will enable you to click on sites. Either way, I hope you will surf the web for these.
