Why Should I Allow Satan Control?

     Decades ago a comedian known as Flip Wilson use to cause people to roar with laughter as he excused his weird behavior by saying, "The Devil made me do it."   Sadly in real life a lot of Christ-Followers live defeated lives because they do not realize that the Devil cannot make a child of God do anything unless she or he allows it to be so.  John said it best when he proclaimed in 1 John 3:8, "The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the Devil's work."  He went on to say, "Greater is He who is within me than he who is in the world." 1 John 4:4b.  James knew all this when he told us "Submit yourself to God, resist the Devil and he has to run from you." James 4:7. It's clear who really is in the driver's seat when it comes to standing up to that which is evil.

     The problem arises for Christ-followers when they believe Satan's lies: He cannot defeat you, but he can lie to you.  As Jesus said of him, "he is a liar and the father of all lies.  When he lies, he speaks his native language."  And if you believe the lie and not the truth, rather than being free, you are enslaved and will be defeated.  Just, as when slaves did not leave the plantation shortly after the Emancipation Proclamation was declared -- because they did not know what to believe  -- even so children of God, who don't know of the power they possess,  cannot overcome the enslavement from believing lies.  If you believe the Devil makes you do "it," you will live accordingly.  If he lies to you and convinces you he does not exist, he will blindside you.  Do you get what I am saying here?

     Cling to the truth of God's word.  THE reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the Devil's work.  Jesus must have certainly believed in the existence of evil personified.  The reason He came was to destroy the Devil's work.  So the real question needed to be ask is "Why should I let the Devil have control?" After all, Jesus destroyed his capabilities and all he has is the lie.

We Can Be So Much More.

   We Can Be So Much More:  Let us learn about the powerful identity God the Father gives us, through our being IN Christ Jesus by the power of The Holy Spirit. Let us embrace our God given Eternal Inheritance.  ( Ephesians 1:3-14)  Let us get up, each morning and give ourselves up to God. (Romans 12:1-2.)  Let us wake up! And practice Gods practice of putting off the deeds of darkness, of being empowered to behave decently, like people who live in the day time. (Romans 13:11-14) Let us cloth our selves, in Jesus, by putting on the full armor of God each day! This will make us strong in the Lord and in His mighty power, and it will give us all we need to stand against the Devil's schemes. (Ephesians 6:10-20) Let us submit to God, and resist the Devil so he will have to flee from us. (James 4:7) Learn all we can about the enemy and know he has no authority over us. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves!  By their fruits you shall recognize them!  Do people pick grapes from thorn bushes or figs from thistles? Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, and every bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Every tree that does NOT bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus by their fruit you will recognize them. Not everyone who says to me 'Lord, Lord' will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but ONLY those who do the will of my Father in Heaven.
