Jesus Quotes: Earthquakes

        As I sit at my computer, It's so very sad to hear that another earthquake or two has struck:  One struck in Japan and the other in  Ecuador. Is it just me? Or does it seem that the earthquakes are coming a  more rapid rate than previously?   Once Jesus talked briefly about earthquakes, and he discussed them in the context of what it would be like when he returned, and what it would be like at the end of the ages.  In a nutshell, he was answering the questions of his disciples about when will the end come?  See Matthew 24:3.  His earthquake quote goes like this.

"Nation will rise against nations, and kingdom against kingdom.

There will be famines and earthquakes the

world over.

All these are the beginning of birth-pains.Nat"

There is so very much I could say about all the "signs," but I have been led of the Holy Spirit to talk about this issue.  So here we go. There is clear scientific data today validating Jesus prophetic utterance regarding earthquakes. Go to www.earth.webec.co.uk and then go to the topic "Earthquakes What Are The Longterm Trends?"  Here is what you will find reported in Thirty-Eight year increments:

1863-1900 

There were only 12 earthquakes 

6.99 or greater on the

 Richter Scale.

1901-1938

There were only 53 earthquakes

6.99 or greater on the 

Richter Scale

1939 - 1976 

There were even more: There were 71 earthquakes 6.99

or greater on the 

Richter Scale.

1977-2014

There were 164 earthquakes 6.99 

or greater on the 

Richter Scale.

According to this same site their has been a 600% increase in these earthquakes, with 1997-2007 having 99 (That's right Ninety-Nine) earthquakes in ten years.  I think you see a pattern here. But keep in mind any thing less than 6.99 on the Richter scale is NOT reported. Why?  To use their words these smaller earthquakes are not "major enough" to count.  There were really way more than this report reveals. 

    Here is something that will get your attention, I hope:   The site www.earthsky.org/-are-large-earthquakes-increasing   reported, "Large earthquakes greater than 8 in magnitude have struck the earth at a record hight rate ..." With Japan and Ecuador having had earthquakes, the news reported to today that "The ring of fire," a huge portion of the earth subject to earthquakes, needs to be prepared.

     Whatever you think, dear friends, whether you are in Ecuador or Japan or along the ring of fire, Jesus was not surprised by what you are going through.  He knew about it, told about it and is now has your back Christ-Follower.  Some will debate why or why not did God not stop this.  And if you like you can do so.  My purpose is to tell you that he is right their in the middle of your struggles.  As the psalmist said, God is my refuge and strength my present help in time of need, and then he describes that God was with him, even in the earthquake. (See Psalm 46.)  And in the midst of all trembling earth, he is calling to you to "be still and know (experience) God." I have seen some challenges in my life, and only a couple of earthquakes, but in each case my Lord was their every single time. I simply would be still and breath deeply into myself the breath of life.  And I experienced God.

     You can do the same, Christ-Follower, in the midst of all your challenges, and if you do you will be blessed 2day especially Today.
