Jesus Quote: Never Forsaken

I will never leave you nor forsake you.
Jesus

Jesus knew what is was like to be left alone and totally, completely and utterly forsaken.  Though he had never sinned, given into temptation, or failed his heavenly father in anyway, he still experienced abandonment in the worst kind of way.  He was abandoned by God.  Yes, as he suffered, bled and died and took our sins on himself, sin did its worst.  Just as our sins separated us from God, he who brought us back into relationship with him, had to be separated and or isolated from the Heavenly Father to the point that the grief was just too much.

This horrific ripping away from his father was demonstrated as Jesus experienced the first stage of grief.  He set the appropriate example for grief as he did that which some preachers say we should never do.  He cried out in agony the "Why" question. "My God!  My God!  Why have you forsaken me!" Yes, he who has never sinned asked God the Father "Why?"  He did so because, even though the suffering was overwhelming, the worst part of it all was for God to leave his side in those moments when every sin that will ever be committed was placed on him so that we could be forgiven.

Most of you know the gospel story: Jesus lived the only sinless life ever lived.  As the Son of God, he faced down Satan and defeated him on every turn.  This qualified him to be "The lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world." He suffered from Gethsemane to Golgotha.  He was crucified, he died and he was buried.  And on the third day he arose for the dead." Now any who take up their cross and follow him ... believe in him ... will never perish but have eternal life.

We who follow him have and are going to face challenges.  We will face trials and tribulations.  We may feel like we are alone and cannot make it.  But know this for sure: His promise is good, and when he said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you," he meant every word he said.  He has always kept these words he said, and he will ALWAYS keep this word to you.  So, challenged or not, trust him.  Do not believe the lies of the world, the sin nature or the devil.  Jesus is alway "there" with you. He will NOT leave you.  As the old song says, "You will never walk alone." Invite him to light up your life today and

Be Blessed 2day Especially Today
