More Than A Servant

I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master's business. Instead, I have called you friends. For everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.
John 15:15 -- Jesus

Those who have decided to follow Jesus are a  unique kind of people.  Each one has a transformed relationship with God indicating that there is a special intimacy with which Jesus has gifted us.  He actually calls us "friends."  And it is a friendship far beyond being a servant.  Why? The answer is simple: A servant isn't privileged with being able to know the family's business. The Lord Jesus gives that privilege to you and me who have truly surrendered our lives to Him.

Am I saying that we are in now in no way servants of the LORD? NO!  We are still beloved servants of our Lord Jesus. We are, however, servants of God with one HUGE benefit:  God wants to be our friends; therefore, He has held nothing back. He calls us "friends, " and "everything" the Father gave to Jesus, while He was on this earth, He now reveals to us.  No family secrets of God have been withheld from us.

To me this is an eye-opening and astounding truth for Christ-Followers.  Jesus who is The Son of God and who is ONE with God The Father and God The Holy Spirit actually considers us as people with whom He wants to associate.  He thinks of as confidants or someone in whom God confides. He saves our souls making us His soul-mates. He actually reveals to us God's mysteries. (Ephesians 1:9) He gives us grace, as His friends,  to talk with Him about absolutely ANYTHING ... no matter how big or small. (1 Peter 5:6-7 and Hebrews 4:15-16)

Hold on tight to this one who calls you "friend" and ...

Be Blessed 2day
Especially Today.
