God's Choice
Good Choice
In love, He predestined us to be adopted as His children,
through Jesus Christ,
in accordance with His pleasure and will,
to the praise of His glorious grace,
which He has freely given to us in the one He loves.
Ephesians 1:5-6
Hey did you catch what Paul is saying here? Yes, I know this is a controversial verse, bus still, he is talking about God making a choice, and a very good choice. It is a good choice because He chose each one of us who are Christ-Followers. He predetermined each one LONG before we were created. No He did NOT just pick and choose who would go to Heaven and who would go to Hell. For in another place Paul says, "Those whom He foreknew He predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters."
Think about it. God looked throughout all eternity, long before the world was ever created, to see who would respond to His call of eternal salvation. He "foreknew" each one of us who would make the choice to believe in and follow Jesus. Then based on what He saw, He Chose US! He then chose to settle it, seal it and predetermine it. He did this -- not randomly picking and choosing -- but because He knew what we would do.
Why would God even think of adopting someone like you or me to be a child of God. First, our passage tells us He did so because of the fact He was (and is) "in love" with us. Second, He tells us that adopting us as His children brings Him "pleasure." Third He tells us He simply wanted to do it. It was and is simply His will that He just wanted to love on us. Fourth, He did so because of His glorious grace. That it is, even though we did not deserve it or feel like we still deserve it, God gave us what we did not deserve in a glorious way. He did not skimp on giving His grace. He gave it "freely" because of Jesus who is the ultimate one that He loves. Finally God gave us all this to form us into the image of Christ.
So, when God looked through history to see who would come to Him, He already saw you reading this blog. And now you are at one of those Divine intersections. What did He see back then concerning you? What does He see now? Have you decided to follow Jesus? Have you turned from your sin to place your faith in Jesus who was crucified, dead, buried and rose from the dead? Have you ever believed so that you will NOT perish but share in God's life forever? I do hope God has seen you and does see you. I hope He sees you bow your knees and confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the Glory of God the Father.
If you make a good choice, you will truly and eternally
Be Blessed 2day
Especially Today
