ADVENT and THE HEAVENLY AMBASSADORS

Good Day Ambassador

Advent 5

In the U.S. we have an international organizations based here called The United Nations where Ambassadors of the world serve. I am not so sure we actually need this organization, but having Ambassadors serving internationally is absolutely necessary if the world is going to socially function in any meaningful way. These representatives are authorized to speak for their governments.  When they represent their nation, they represent those leaders governing their nation.  In the USA, our Ambassadors represent the people of our nation because, in theory, all of our leaders serve at the behest of the people of The United States of America.  Practically they represent the executive branch of our government.  Today that head of state -- for good or ill -- is President Obama. Therefore, these Ambassadors are the "face" of The United States. The thoughts, beliefs, opinions, assumptions, expectations, evaluations and actions of the Ambassador greatly reflect on the one(s) they represent. Their persona becomes the persona of the nation they represent.

Christ came, and He comes into the hearts and lives of His Holy People. He has a kingdom, and though His kingdom is not of this world, it is very real, powerful and even eternal.  His Ambassadors have represented Him for millennia, as other nations rose and fell. Some people today question the validity of His kingdom, but the time is coming, after He comes again, that their will be NO disputing its nobility, absolute power and authority. The kingdom that is not of this world will indeed one day dominate the world.  Every knee will bow and confess that Jesus is Lord of all to the glory of God the Father. Every nation will be subject to God's Kingdom. Some will bow the knee willingly and will experience life eternal.  They will have the joy of being citizens of Heaven. Others will do so by other means and will not benefit from the citizenship of Heaven.

Until that time, His kingdom must have it's representatives. And He has given  to each of  His Heavenly citizens a hallowed position in the Kingdom of God.  He has given to us the appointment of Ambassador. "Now then, we are Ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us."  (2 Corinthians 5:20) Indeed, just as each nation in this world system has its Ambassadors, even so God's Kingdom has these positions of authority. If you are reading this as a Christ-Follower, you can be sure that, if you have  determined to "deny yourself, take up the Cross and follow Him," you are now a member of God's Heavenly Leadership Team.  You are -- by Divine Appointment  -- Christ Jesus representative. You did not choose this position.  As a matter of fact, Christ chose you.  Listen to what He says in John 15:16.  "You did not choose me, but I chose you and ordained you to bring forward fruit, fruit that will last."  And the fruit you will bear is both the fruit of The Holy Spirit and the fruit of helping others become Citizens of Heaven.

Like other Ambassadors, you need not serve in your own limited resources. For you have a life giving eternal spiritual strength by which you can serve.  This power is found in God's Holy Spirit.  Or as God's Word says, You will receive power, once the Holy Spirit comes on you, and you will be my witnesses (Ambassadors) in your home towns, in other cities, in your state, in your nation and in all the nations of the world.  (Based on Acts 1:8) The Spirit will empower you daily as you surrender each day to Him.  As you surrender, you will receive the grace to act like an Ambassador of Christ.  It's up to you whether you will do so.  But if you indeed practice yielding to the One you represent, day by day you will be a better representative. You will represent Him better each new day if you choose to genuinely follow the Lord Jesus. Your public persona will be the persona the world will have of Jesus and His church.

Some will not like the kingdom you represent. Sometimes Ambassadors serve in precarious circumstances. You represent the Kingdom of Light juxtaposed to the Kingdom of Darkness.  If the people are seeking the light, they will be drawn to you to learn more about  this kingdom you represent.  If they love darkness more than light, Jesus has taught they will hate you.  Either way represent Christ well by the power of His love, mercy and grace. He is with you always even to the ends of the world.

Do So And
Be Blessed 2day
Especially Today
