The Ultimate Terrorist #2

The Ultimate Terrorist #2

The scriptures clearly reveal who is the Ultimate Terrorist.  It is very clear the source behind the power of evil that is the epitome of evil; and it seems his character is one that is shady at best and the darkness of darkness at worse. Here is something John says about him:

The thief comes for the purpose of stealing, killing and destroying...
John 10:10a

From the very beginnings of the biblical account of the second creation -or 7 day creation- these 3 trademark character traits have been stamped indelibly on the pages of Ancient Wisdom's holy writ: Consider that he stole the blessings of the first family by trickery and deceit.  On the day that our ancient ancestors decided to believe him, as God tried to warn them, they died.  He got them to sin, and so their spirits died.  Their bodies later followed.  Because they chose to disbelieve God (be independent of God), and because they chose to believe the evil one, they allowed Satan to murder them/kill them in the worst kind of way.  For in their death, they passed on to you and me the sentence of condemnation for our sins.  They passed on the death sentence to everyone on planet earth.  In a nutshell, he accomplished destroying the most beautiful relationship they could have.  Just as he tries to destroy relationships today... our individual and collective relationship with God and with those whom we love. The first Adam, and his wife Eve as well, simply blew it.

But then there is "the rest of the story." Notice above that the scripture passage is part A.  It tells us of Satan's character.  It spells out his goals, objectives and desires.  He wants to steal.  He wants to kill/murder and he wants to destroy; however, there is a "B" side to this equation:\

"BUT I have come that you may have life and that your life may be full."
John 10:10b

Yes Jesus, when he came to live among us, he  defeated Satan on every turn in the road. He defeated him when Satan tried to steal from Jesus.  He defeated him when Satan tried to kill Jesus,  and he defeated Satan when he tried to destroy Jesus. Walking on those   dusty roads of Israel, he trampled Satan under his feet.  In the wilderness Jesus defeated Satan. When he was starving from having not eaten for 40 days and night, he defeated Satan.  When Satan made being a Satanist look great to Jesus, still Jesus defeated him.  On the pinnacle of the Temple, Jesus smacked him down.  In Gethsemane Jesus defeated Satan, even as he sweated great drops of blood. He plodded every step of the way via beatings, whippings, mocking, slandering and stripping him of his garments.  On to a cross where he endured the mind numbing searing pain of piercing with nails and dehydration to death. Yet still he defeated Satan.  He defeated him in his hell.  He defeated him in his death, and he defeated him because of his resurrection.  Now because of what he has done, and is doing,  we have regained our inheritance in Christ.  He now lives, and so will we for all eternity. Satan's destruction of our spirit and spirituality is now replaced with an eternal construction/reconstruction of our eternal spirits so that we can share in God's life for ever. Hallelujah and Amen!
