THE HEBREW OF THE HEBREWS: YESHUA
The Hebrew of the
Hebrews: Yeshua
Anyone who knows
anything about history knows that the Hebrew people are an ancient and modern
people. They outlived many of their
ancient contemporaries; for example, when was the last time you talked to a
Philistine, Canaanite or Moabite person? Yet, thousands of years ago the
Jews/Hebrews interacted with them and were even challenged by them, putting
their own existence at risk. The Hebrew still is on the forefront of modern
culture, and you can readily hear about the news worthy things they accomplish
on a daily basis. Perhaps the most
astounding claim to fame they possess is that they view themselves, as does the
Holy Bible, as God’s people.
There was one, and
is one, who came to them and from them with his own astounding claims: His Hebrew name is Yeshua. You all know this
person as Jesus. He was named Yeshua
(Savior) because he came to save his people from their sins. Anyone of us can read about his exploits,
life, apparent defeats and victories in the Bible, especially in the 5 gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke, John and Acts. I have
added the Book of Acts because of what Yeshua accomplished in this book
himself, and what he accomplished through the body of Christ. There has never
been a Hebrew (or any other kind of human being) like him; therefore, I call
him the Hebrew of the Hebrews. What
makes him so special? Well that’s what I
am getting ready to share.
God’s Ultimate Public
Relations (PR) Man
Back in the day, God spoke to us through the ultimate Lawyer,
Moses. (Check out the first few books of the Old Covenant in the Bible. Later God spoke to us through the prophets. (Hebrews
1:1) God even spoke to us through angels.
Now I know some don’t believe in angels.
Then you have a big problem with how the mother of God, Mary, received
her message from the Heavenly Father about getting pregnant with the child
Jesus. Despite anyone’s beliefs, it’s clear
to me God spoke to us through the angels as well as Moses and the Prophets.
However, then there
is Yeshua who is God’s ultimate PR Man… Public Relations Man. He is ultimate because of the way he is
described in the Bible. Check out
Hebrews 1:1-4:
1 In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the
prophets at many times and in various ways, 2 but in these last
days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all
things, and through whom also he made the universe. 3 The Son
is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being,
sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification
for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven. 4 So
he became as much superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is
superior to theirs.
1.
First, he is God’s
Son.
2.
He is also appointed
heir of ALL things.
3.
Through him God made the entire universe.
4.
He radiates God.
5.
He represents exactly
what God is in His being.
6.
His word is powerful
and sustains ALL things.
7.
He purified people
completely from bondage to sin.
8.
He reigns with the
Father in Heaven
9.
He is superior to the
angels
10. His name and inheritance are superior to mere angels.
Needless to say, when Jesus speaks, everybody
needs to listen up. For he says is a rock solid representation of what God
wants you to know. When he speaks, he
teaches you the way of God’s salvation, and he offers this salvation to you as
a gift. When he speaks, he breathes the
breath of life that God’s Word gives.
When he speaks, it is profitable for you and me. When he speaks, he tells us what God wants us
to know. When he speaks, he tells us
what God wants us to stop. When he
speaks, he is guiding us to keep our lives on course. When he speaks, he is
giving the instructions we need to walk in righteousness and have what we need
to live purpose filled lives, while on planet earth. When he speaks, he is giving us basic instructions
before leaving earth.
He is indeed God’s ultimate PR Man.
Now here is the real kicker. When he came to his own, the Hebrews did not
receive him or accept him. Sure the Hebrew
disciples received him, and about 500 other witnesses, mostly Hebrew, received
him; but for the most part his own folks (who represented the core people through
whom God wanted to reach the world) did not listen to him. (John 1:11);
however, this left the door wide open for you and for me to intersect our lives
with God Himself.
But as many as received him, he gave them the power of God
to become children of God.
John 1:12
John 1:12
Here
are some questions for you today: Will
you let a miracle occur in your life? Will
you believe he is indeed the Son of God?
Will you receive him as your Savior?
Will you let him into your life to have a relationship with your, by
faith? Will you turn to him so that you can receive the supernatural power to
become one of God’s special adopted children? You may have been rejected by
others. He will NOT reject you. He is
reaching out to you today, and he is speaking to you. Will you listen? If you do, not only will he represent God to
you. He will present you to God, and
through his good news, you will look to God as one of his perfect
children. God will see you as holy,
blameless, and free from any accusation. (Colossians 1:22.) God will transform
your life. (Romans 12:1.)
He
is speaking. Why not listen up, and…
Be Blessed Today
Especially Today.
