Storm Chaser.

Once Jesus was in a boat with his disciples.  They had gone a short distance out into the water, and then it happened:  The lightening began to flash! The thunder began to crash! The waves began to toss the boat like it was a fishing cork!  The water was so high that if began to slam down into the boat, and the boat was at the point of either capsizing or sinking.

Meanwhile, Jesus was in the stern of the boat sleeping soundly... sleeping like a baby. This seemed to really get to the disciples.  So they began to yell above the noise of the storm to be heard; otherwise, Jesus might not have awaken because he was really sleeping soundly.  They said, "LORD... DON'T YOU CARE WE ARE PERISHING IN THIS STORM!  Jesus woke up.  He spoke up, and he said just three words, "Peace... be still."  The lightening quit flashing.  The thunder quit crashing, the waves quit rocking the boat, and waves certainly were not going to sink the boat.  In fact, right after he spoke... well... it was simply peaceful and still.

Now the disciples were shocked.  They could not believe it.  They knew that Jesus had power to calm the storm because they just watched him doing it.  He was being the first, first century storm chaser.  No he did not chase after the storm, but he chased the storm away from the disciples and--in time-- brought peace to their lives.  But NOT before they quit trying to fight the storm by working fearlessly and rowing harder.  He helped them when they gave up on their own strength and cried out to him in their distress.

Anyone who knows me knows that I have seen God literally rule the physical storms (weather) many times.  I have led congregations in prayer regarding these matters, and people were amazed at how God intervened; however, I really want to talk  about how he can be one who helps you bring peace to the storms of your life or the storm that is your life.

"How?" You may ask. The answer is quite simple.  Realize you can not get through this storm all by yourself.  Realize that there are some things just way too big for you. In a nutshell, come to the place where you have come to the end of yourself in order that you can honestly cry out to God, through Jesus.  Let him show you that he cares about you being in the storm.  Remember that Jesus was already in the boat with the disciples, and he is in your life's boat with you right now.

Let me say this another way: If the picture of your life becomes ( or is filled with) the rough waters of daily living. You may be doing yourself a disservice trying to strain at the oars to fight the storm challenges all by yourself.  It might just be best to admit that your life is out of control on this rough sea of today's circumstances. You would do better to cry out to the ONE who rules the winds and the waves of the sea of life. In fact, I am fairly certain if you gave up and simply said "HELP ME LORD JESUS!"  I am fairly certain you might just sail in to a place more to your liking.   So why not try out letting Jesus be your storm chaser today.

Giving Up Means Jesus Will Stand Up For You.
Jesus Is Waiting For You To Give Up.

Works For Me.

Now Go On Out And Blessed 2day... Especially 2day.
