TRUE INTIMACY: ANOTHER THINKING ABOUT THIS, "WHERE IS GOD?"
Did you ever feel alone? Did you ever feel like God was not anywhere around. Did you ever feel abandoned by God, as if God does not care? Well I know I have; yet, those are my weaker moments. Because the bigger question is this: Did you ever think that God's presence is with you even when you don't know it?'
I mean, where can you go to escape the loving presence of the Holy Spirit? Try going up to the heavens... especially those heavenly spiritually emotional "high" places. If you have any sense of spiritual sensitivity, you will find that God is there; take a nap in the depths... God will be there watching you while you rest... even in the depths of depression. If you were to get on the largest and fastest airliner and travel all across the pacific to wherever, you will find out that God was with you when you took off, and God will be with you during the trip... AND God will be waiting on the other side, "on the far side of the sea." As a matter of fact, His hand will even be guiding you in that far away place.
I think the key to knowing this, however, is in our willingness to perceive it and receive it. Here is an old story I have told many times, but it will make my point. Back when space flight was in its intimacy, the Cosmonauts were interviewed by the then atheistic Pravda, "Did you see God, when you went to space?" They answered, "We have been ALL out into space and we did NOT see God anywhere." Later American Astronauts, who came back from space, were asked the same question. They answered. "We have been ALL out into space, and we saw God everywhere."
Christ follower, in Christ, we live, move, breathe and have our being. It is so much of us that it is like our heart beat. We may not be aware of our heart beating, but it keeps us alive. Check your pulse and you can count your heart beats to see if the heart is beating strongly, at the right pace and in the correct rhythm. So, not being aware of the heart does not mean it is not beating keeping us alive. But we can be aware of it by choosing to do so.
God is nearer than your next breath. He breathed into our ancestors, and into us, the breath of life. Let us practice His presence. Practice being aware of it. Just breathe slowly and realize, no matter where you find yourself... no matter how you feel... well... God is with you. Take a deep breath today and...
Be Blessed 2day
Especially 2day
