NOT GUILTY!

Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
 Romans 5:1
A person committed crimes that brought him before the Judge.  The law, under which he was judged, declared him to deserve to be punished.  Yet, after considering "the preponderance of the evidence," he was declared NOT Guilty.  He was freed to live a new life!

Each one of us has broken God's law.  Under the "Law of Sin and Death," if you committed sins... or broke God's law... you were condemned; yet, once a year, a High Priest would sacrifice a lamb (Or some other sacrificial animal on your behalf.)  In the Egyptian times, in the Bible,  it was the Passover Lamb. The death penalty was satisfied (the fine was paid) by the sacrifice of the "lamb of God,"  The lamb was the best of the flock, with no flaws. This was called atonement or the turning aside of God's wrath.  This would also be a form of justification.  Usually it was "good" for only a year.  It was a way of making folks ceremonially clean, but it could not transform the heart or mind to the individual.

This covenant eventually was abused by the people, and they fell into licentiousness (habitual sinning as a life style) they used this sacrificial system as a means of "licensing" themselves to live morally corrupt lives. They simply went through the motions of dead rituals sacrificing animals to get to sin against God. They eventually got to believing that they could do whatever they wanted, and it would not matter.  After all,  they were meeting the requirements of the law... weren't they?  NOT! So, for all intents and purposes, they simply lived independent of God.

This Old Covenant pointed to what we now call The New Covenant.  It and the law pointed to "The Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world."  We are talking about a "Jesus Thing" people!  This New Covenant brought us what Paul calls "Justification: "  This is a big word that simply means to be viewed by God "Just As If I Never Sinned."  It provides us with the ability to be forgiven, forgiving,  cleansed and transformed.  Through it God gives us what we need to overcome the Kingdom of Darkness, the brokenness in our lives and the sin that traps us in old patterns of destructive living.  In a nutshell,  God declares us NOT GUILTY!

However, there is more: He gives us peace with God and the peace of God. He makes us into new creations! We can actually leave the past behind and live by faith in Jesus. We can  experience His Holy Spirit's power to overcome the obstacles and challenges of daily living! I have lost count of the number of times I have witnessed this.

So bet your life on Jesus.  Believe in Him and the things He accomplished, as the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world... who takes away your sins.  The "preponderance of the evidence" is against you, BUT Jesus paid your fine. Let Jesus provide you with forgiveness and the ability for you to forgive. Yes, believe in Jesus, and let Him (by His Holy Spirit) give you the power to live and not just exist.  Let Him make you the new creation He wants you to be. Receive Spiritual Power each day to live your life.  Be declared "NOT GUILTY!"

Then... You Will Be Blessed 2day... Especially 2day!
