A Wisdom Thought For 10/26/13

If you accept God's word
and store up God's commands within you,
2 turning your ear to wisdom
and applying your heart to understanding—
3 indeed, if you call out for insight
    and cry aloud for understanding,
4 and if you look for it as for silver
and search for it as for hidden treasure,
5 then you will understand the fear of the Lord
and find the knowledge of God.
Bases On Proverbs 2:1-5

Spend some time reading this, re-reading it, asking "What does this say to me?"
Then decide to apply it.
Then:
You just might be blessed 2day.
Especially 2day.

When Death Becomes a Part of Life: A Word About Heaven

Image
When Death Becomes A part of Life:  When death becomes a part of life, it is accompanied by grief and a troubled heart. In John 14: 1-6, this is precisely what is going on as Jesus teaches His disciples, and us, 21 centuries later. In this sacred Word of God, that will sustain you and me during one of the hardest times in life, Jesus speaks clearly, dearly, with love, compassion and tenderness about Heaven. His disciples are troubled. They are afraid. They are confused. The Cross looms awesomely on their horizon, and their world feels like it's unraveling. It's kind of like we feel during times when our loved ones are going to leave us here or have already gone on to be with the Lord; nevertheless, into our storm of uncertainty, Jesus speaks peace and encourages us to achieve a Heavenly view. Let not your hearts be troubled. Neither let them be afraid. You believe in God. Believe also in me.   The Place. The Relationship. The Heartbeat Heaven, in this moment, is not jus...

Armor of God: The Shield That Stops Satan's Fire

The Shield That Stops Satan's Fire “In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.” — Ephesians 6:16 IN ADDITION TO ALL THIS As we continue this series where we put on the armor of God, to clothe ourselves in Jesus Christ, in order for us to be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power, and as we do this to be able to stand against the Devil’s schemes, the Apostle Paul tells us we need to add a really vital part to our spiritual armor , if we want to defeat Satan in his primary scheme: After all,  “He is a liar, and he is the father of all lies, and when he lies he speaks his native language.” {John 8:44c} Therefore, we need to add “The Shield of Faith.” Then we are empowered to stop Satan's fire. Faith is not passive. Paul doesn’t say, “Hold on to faith somewhere nearby.” He says, "take it up! Lift it! Raise it! Use it!" Yes! We choose to walk in faith! In the Roman world, a soldier’s...

R.E.S.T: Vote With A Godly Conscience

Image
Rock-solid Eternal Spirituality Today     Absolutely R.E.S.T.s on How We Vote : SAVE OUR REPUBLIC The Christ-Follower – Patriot and Defender of The Constitution Over a period of four decades, I wore the uniform of The United States Air Force! I am so grateful for the opportunity to serve, for unashamedly saying that I am a patriot – and more importantly – a Christ Follower. And I have found it gratifying that I decided to #WalkAway from the Democratic Party, as well as the Republican party. I was both, but since I decided to follow Jesus decades ago, in time, it became clear to me that, sometimes, being loyal to a political party left me in a place that I don’t believe my Lord Jesus would have me be; therefore, I turned away from them to be sure my loyalties didn’t resemble an idolatrous relationship with a political party: I am happily an Independent . As a Christ following Patriot, I firmly believe that we were endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable rights, and...
