The Holy Scriptures: It's Wisdom

Timothy, you know the Holy Scriptures how they are able to make you wise for experiencing salvation through faith in Christ.  

2 Timothy 3:15

I have been thinking a lot lately about God's Word.  I have been thinking about just how powerful it has been in my life, and I have seen so many lives transformed miraculously over the years by this very Word of God.  I know for a certainty that it has had a HUGE impact on the life of this SoJourner... even before I knew God was working on me ... He taught it through my parents and Church family at a little church called New Castle Methodist (later United Methodist, Church.)

Well a couple of millennia ago, our ancient spiritual ancestor, young Timothy, had a similar experience as mine.  In fact I can imagine generations of young women and men having their own Divine Intersections with the Word of Almighty God.  Timothy had been influenced by this Supernatural spiritual gift - "The Holy Scriptures"- from infancy.  Now we see in this part of the Word a powerful teaching...  "Timothy the Holy Scriptures are able to give you the Wisdom to experience God's salvation." The Apostle Paul formerly known as Saul.

Notice he did NOT say that the Holy Scriptures cause you to "Know" God's salvation.  He said that they are able make you "Wise" for experiencing salvation.  In other words, it is one thing to know the nuts and bolts of what constitutes salvation; yet it is quite another to apply that knowledge and experience it up close and personal. Yup!  It is quite another,  when you intersect with God's Word, and then you receive it into your life to work a miracle that we call Salvation.

John 3:16-18 tells us something like this, "God so loves the world (you and me) that He gave His only biological Son that whoever believes in Him will never perish, but that person that believes in Him,  will share in God's life forever.  God did NOT send His Son into the world to condemn the world.  He did send Him to save the world.  Those who believe in Him are NOT condemned; yet,  since everyone is already condemned because of violating God's law, those who choose not to believe in him choose to  remain condemned for not believing in His Son who wants to save them."

This seems pretty clear. You have the freedom to choose:  Believe in Jesus and be set free forever to share in God's life.  Believe in Jesus and the condemnation that is pronounced on all who have broken God's law will be removed.  Believe in Jesus, and your sin record (and the resultant condemnation that comes from breaking God's law) will be completely done away with.  So this one who is wise enough to simply believe in Jesus will have their eternal court record cleared of ALL sin/wrong doing.  God will look at them just as if they had never sinned. WOW! Salvation's miracle will be the one who believes miracle! WOW! Now this is true wisdom from above.

This sounds like fantastic information to know!  But the wisdom miracle is in making this salvation your own.  The wisdom miracle is in applying the knowledge.  The wisdom miracle is in simply believing Jesus as the one who died to shed His blood and Sacrifice His body for you!  The wisdom miracle is in receiving this knowledge up close and personal!  The wisdom miracle is in putting your name where the word "world" is written in John 3:16-18 above.

So here is the question:  Have you or will you allow the Holy Scriptures to pour into your life salvation through faith in Jesus, who is the Christ?

We Can Be So Much More.

   We Can Be So Much More:  Let us learn about the powerful identity God the Father gives us, through our being IN Christ Jesus by the power of The Holy Spirit. Let us embrace our God given Eternal Inheritance.  ( Ephesians 1:3-14)  Let us get up, each morning and give ourselves up to God. (Romans 12:1-2.)  Let us wake up! And practice Gods practice of putting off the deeds of darkness, of being empowered to behave decently, like people who live in the day time. (Romans 13:11-14) Let us cloth our selves, in Jesus, by putting on the full armor of God each day! This will make us strong in the Lord and in His mighty power, and it will give us all we need to stand against the Devil's schemes.
