The Character Of God In Production Today

Not too long ago a friend of mine and I were simply sharing with each other.  We both have been through some transitional times, and we continually pray for each other; therefore, in one conversation we were talking about The Fruit of The Spirit. Why?  I suppose because the symptoms of encountering the Holy Spirit are so powerful they can help you live when life get's to be a challenge.  Of course most Saints know the parts of the Spirit's  fruit production include the following:
  • Love
  • Joy
  • Peace
  • Long suffering/Patience
  • Gentleness/kindness/
  • Goodness
  • Meekness/humility
  • Faithfulness/integrity
  • Self Control.
Check out Galatians 5:22-23

As we spoke, he said to me "These represents the Character of God."  I was stopped in my tracks by this thought.  To me it was a supernatural statement.  It is also life changing, especially when you consider these to be evidence that the Holy Spirit is within you and The Holy Spirit is growing His fruit.  That is The Holy Spirit is growing in each Christ Follower the "Character of God."

It seems to me, therefore, when a person prays "Lord teach me to love, Teach me to have joy.  Teach me to be a peace maker..."  (Or here is the big one}"Lord teach me to have patience"... well... it's just NOT going to happen.  Why? because fruit and character are grown.  They are not "taught."

When was the last time you remember anyone or anything teaching an apple to grow to be an apple?  HMMMM????  When was the last time and orange obtained a BA in orangology so that it could be an orange.  Who taught any orange orchard or apple orchard how to be?  No ONE!  These are grown.

Jesus said it this way:  "Abide in me and I will abide in you.  Then you will bear much fruit and that fruit will remain."  The orange or apple seed simply rests in the environment for which the Creator created it.  It actually rests in the presence of The Creator.  Each one sits still until, after resting alone in the Creator... it dies as a seed and starts to become a sprig, then a plant, then a tree, then a blossoming tree, And then it fully becomes  a fruit-filled tree.

To bear fruit in the Lord it takes being along with God in an intimate relationship, for which God longs.  It takes being still. It takes dying to old ways so God can grow new ways.  It takes, letting the Creator grow the Fruit of The Holy Spirit IN us where we are planted.  It takes God growing in us God's Character as we intentionally surrender ourselves by Faith.

By the way.... Fruit "Ain't" Fast Food!

So be alone with God and Practice His Presence
Don't just do something sit there... in Christ.

Especially 2day
