Bad Things Happen To Good People
Romans 8:28 & 29
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to HIS purpose.
29 For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.
Okay. So let's get this straight: Many Christ Followers call this "Holy Week." And as I think about it, this week called "Holy" had a whole lot of bad things happening rapidly. And they happened to the best man who ever lived... They happened to Jesus. It's hard to imagine anyone having a more horrible, terrible, very bad and or no good week...seriously.
Yet he suffered through it all, and in the end, a HUGE miracle occurred... Jesus conquered Hell, Death and the grave!!! And the great blessings of all time came, not out of good things happening to good people, but they came out of bad things happening to good people.
So I was just thinking. I said to my self, "Self why is it that many of us contemporary folks think that God's allowed suffering is a bad purposeless thing?" Then I get the pain and all not feeling so good. But does pain mean that the bad stuff is meaningless?
Nope! Nothing is further from the truth: Take for example the ancient wisdom (see above) from Romans 8:28-29. Many like to quote verse 28. Yet they stop there, and its almost as if verse 29 was never plastered on the pages of the ancient script. Yes God does work in ALL things for the good of those who love Him and are called according to HIS purpose. That is true.
However and yet, Verse 29 tells why God works in all the "stuff" for our good. God tells us what God is actually trying to accomplish with the pain (He has allowed) that will bring us gain. Check out the verse, and you will see that He is simply forming you and me into the image of Jesus so we can be more like Him, as his little sisters and brothers.
Laura Story sings about this in some video's above. I do hope you have time to put on some head phones and crank up the volume.
Now go on out an be blessed 2day
