Sharing Where It Matters

Share each other's troubles and problems, and in this way obey the Law of Christ.
Galatians 6:2

In the last few weeks, months and year I have had  a number of friends die, a parent die, a grandchild go straight to heaven,  and a friends child being hurt seriously in a car wreck (passengers died in the wreck).  This could be overwhelming to all concerned.  It certainly was NO picnic. There is a good chance you had some of this "bad stuff" put on your life's plate, and you know exactly what I am talking about.

However, 2 things consistently  help during such difficulties:  First God's grace is ALWAYS "sufficient."  "HIS power is perfected in our weakness."  The second thing is related to those around us who come along side or who simply pray.  These mean more than anyone could imagine. Today's wisdom addresses the last part of this successful comfort formula... other folks in in our lives. 

Reminds me of the story of a little boy who was terrified at bed time.  He kept calling his Mom into his room because he was so very scared.  Finally the Mom attempted to apply comforting words. "Son" she said, "Don't you know that Jesus is right here with you, and if you just pray to Him when you are afraid, He will help you."  The little boy said, "I know Mommy, but sometimes it helps to have help from someone with skin on."

It certainly does help.  Who has been someone with "skin on" in your life who helps you through the difficult times?"  When was the last time you let someone help you as the one "with skin on?" When was the last time you were the one "with skin on" who helped a friend through their time of weakness?" I pray we will never forget that Christ Followers are "the Body of Christ."  We are the only Jesus people will see because we are Jesus "with skin on."

We Can Be So Much More.

   We Can Be So Much More:  Let us learn about the powerful identity God the Father gives us, through our being IN Christ Jesus by the power of The Holy Spirit. Let us embrace our God given Eternal Inheritance.  ( Ephesians 1:3-14)  Let us get up, each morning and give ourselves up to God. (Romans 12:1-2.)  Let us wake up! And practice Gods practice of putting off the deeds of darkness, of being empowered to behave decently, like people who live in the day time. (Romans 13:11-14) Let us cloth our selves, in Jesus, by putting on the full armor of God each day! This will make us strong in the Lord and in His mighty power, and it will give us all we need to stand against the Devil's schemes. (Ephesians 6:10-20) Let us submit to God, and resist the Devil so he will have to flee from us. (James 4:7) Learn all we can about the enemy and know he has no authority over us. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves!  By their fruits you shall recognize them!  Do people pick grapes from thorn bushes or figs from thistles? Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, and every bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Every tree that does NOT bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus by their fruit you will recognize them. Not everyone who says to me 'Lord, Lord' will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but ONLY those who do the will of my Father in Heaven.
