Security IN Christ: Best Relationship of All

Once you were alienated from God and an enemy in your own mind, but now HE has reconciled us by Christ physical body, through death, to present you holy, in HIS sight, without blemish and free from ALL accusations, If you continue in the faith not moved from the hope held out in the gospel.               Colossians 1:21-23

One quick look at this passage and you will see that God is not worried about what you once were... alienated from God.  God is not concerned about what you once did.  God is more concerned about what you can become.  What A DEAL!!!!!!

 Don't know about you, but I know for a fact, that there was a time in my life where I felt I was alienated from God.  And I lived such that God had every reason to NOT want ANYTHING to do with me.  BUT... take another look at this passage and you will see the alienation IS more with US than it IS with God.  The alienation is in OUR minds:  I who was a legend in my own mind (and a rebel without a clue) did not get it.  God was not out to get me.  God is NOT out to GET YOU.  The "Stinkin Thinkin" of being alienated is in our own minds. And if bad things happened to you growing up, your thinking "stunk" all the more.  You would ask, "How could God want me?"

So while HE was shedding HIS blood, Jesus was also breaking HIS body to make a present out of you, and a present out of me to the Father through the power of the Holy Spirit.  He reconciled the relationships with HIM, and  did this to "present" us as "holy, without blemish and FREE from  ALL accusation."  

Yes our relationships with God were irreconcilable from OUR point of view... But God had a plan that made our irreconcilable differences go away. The ONLY thing holding us back from this comes from NOT having the faith to simply believe this is TRUE.  Therefore, when we do believe it is TRUE, this TRUTH will set us free to experience HIS  holiness, no "zits" on our souls, and freedom from ALL accusation!  Can I get an AMEN, y'all?

To us Older Timers this can be described by saying we are one with Christ because HE has wiped our "slate clean."  For you younger folks (who have NO clue what a slate is) I would say that He has wiped the sin virus from the hard drive of your soul :o) Now you are clean.

All this is the "hope held out in the gospel" that Paul is talking about.

Now if you think about this in light of Hebrews 10:14, you will see just how perfect God has made this relationship with you and me.  Whatchu talkin about SoJourner?  Check it out:  "By ONE sacrifice, He has PERFECTED FOREVER those whom HE is making Holy."  YUP!  That's right!  Once you turn your life over to the ONE who loves you more than you love yourself, HE looks at you as HIS perfect child... perfect little girl... perfect little boy.

So the next time you start the stinking thinking of believing "Nobody loves me"  think again. You have every opportunity to have the MOST secure relationship of all... Security IN Christ, and that is the best relationship of all.

We Can Be So Much More.

   We Can Be So Much More:  Let us learn about the powerful identity God the Father gives us, through our being IN Christ Jesus by the power of The Holy Spirit. Let us embrace our God given Eternal Inheritance.  ( Ephesians 1:3-14)  Let us get up, each morning and give ourselves up to God. (Romans 12:1-2.)  Let us wake up! And practice Gods practice of putting off the deeds of darkness, of being empowered to behave decently, like people who live in the day time. (Romans 13:11-14) Let us cloth our selves, in Jesus, by putting on the full armor of God each day! This will make us strong in the Lord and in His mighty power, and it will give us all we need to stand against the Devil's schemes. (Ephesians 6:10-20) Let us submit to God, and resist the Devil so he will have to flee from us. (James 4:7) Learn all we can about the enemy and know he has no authority over us.
