Journeying Toward Centeredness.

Getting Centered is one of the best experiences of any one's life who is aware he/she is on a journey. Even if you are not aware you are on a journey, it is still   a very good experience. And if you do not realize you are journeying, you are missing out.

When a person does not take time to center, he/she risks becoming susceptible to the "business experience."  The mind has to have something going: TV, Radio, IPOD,Twitter, Facebook, email, and other web stuff that keeps us up to date with stuff that, while enjoyable, may be counterfeit for the power of just being.  Even entertainment becomes god like. All can be exciting, as you see, hear, smell, taste and touch a whole lot of stuff.  But in "experiencing" mainly the superfluous and temporary, we have difficulty hearing and knowing what is eternally important... not to mention spiritually fulfilling and enlightening for the soul.

There are levels of this centeredness; for example,  We can be centered by just being with someone who matters so very much to us.  Last night TLOML and I were sitting in "Cave 2."  It was very quiet, and we really did nothing earth shattering, but just being quiet together gave great strength.  The talk would not move nations but it gave us quietness and peace.  It  gave us a sense of oneness with each other, the dreams God gives us dreams... and God.

Another level goes much deeper: It involves just being alone with God.  Seems like our time with God gets taken up with a whole lot of talk. Nothing wrong with talking to God.  Yet the Lord says to us in Psalm 46 "Be still and Know God."  Literally this is translated "Be still and experience God."  HMMMMM? Now how can we do this if we keep filling our minds with a whole bunch of noise and chatter?

It seems to me that Centering cannot happen until we decide to make it a priority to "Take a deep breath" (somewhere in a private place) and let the "drunken monkey of the mind" go until it quiets. Then just "hang out" with the almighty.... asking for nothing but experiencing everything.  Its sort of like "practicing God's presence.  Think I will try that right now.  Take some time out to think about how you can think about journeying toward centeredness and God.  Then just do it:o)

Be Blessed 2day, especially today.
